Why do people join the military? I still can't figure out why they do. It seems to me the only guaranteed way to stay off this list is to not enlist.

It's the only way a lot of these kids would be able to go to college and have a chance in this world.

Some chance. I'm going to guess that some might have been TOLD that it was the only way to go to college, but it's certainly not true for most.

Is there any way to send Bush to war?

I kinda agree with that although I still believe it is a noble pursuit to serve and protect and defend one's country. However, this is a list of men and women who were defending (if you can even say that) someone else's country. And that's when I get really pissed.

Because all of America's money is tied up in war. They can't afford to provide proper educational funding to young adults. This way they can promise funding to all of them and only have to pay out to half.

That doesn't even come close to answering the question I posed about why individuals enlist. In addition, it's not very accurate.

Educational Funding. I further explained how the government exploits the poverty of these individuals for their own personal gain.

Of course it's mostly speculation, perhaps they are simply martyrs, fighting for "freedom and liberty". Maybe they are just brain-washed.

Obviously it isn't for everybody. Somebody has to do it, though. That's a fact. As for Iraq I'm gonna take a guess and say that the overwhelming majority of those that have served there were enlisted before 2003.

If nobody does it, could they even have wars?

  • I know that singing up is ones choice but what if your Puertorican you dont have the right to vote for the one person who sends you to war. As is the situation if your a resident of the island. We have sacrificed too much for this bullshit war and we dont even have a say in it.

Another Puerto Rican soldier dies in Iraq
    Posted: Monday, March 26, 2007 - 02:32 PM

SAN JUAN (AP) – Spc. Jason Nuñez, born in Naranjito, died in Baqubah, Iraq after a suicide bomber attacked the convoy he was on. He was 23 years old.

Army spokesman José Pagán said Nuñez was an active Army soldier member of the 82nd Airborne Division with headquarters in Ft. Bragg, N.C..

He said they still have no information about the transfer of his remains to the island.

With Nuñez’ death, the death toll of Puerto Rican soldiers fallen in Afghanistan and Iraq stands at 57.

Sunday, soldier Ed Santini, 25, who died a week ago also in Iraq, was buried in Bayamón’s National Cemetery.

    Somebody has to kill people?

    Interesting...

    I'm curious about something...

If a dude like Bush says "Them folks is evil, get 'em!"

It's justified to kill whomever he points his finger at.

But.. If a dude like Charles Manson says "Them folks is evil, get 'em!"

Well, hey, that's a serious crime, you can't do that.

They are both fucking whack jobs, so I don't see the difference, could have very well elected ol' Charlie Manson as the president. Except the family didn't kill many people, and maybe Charlie's words mean something here "maybe I should have killed four or five hundred people, then I would have really offered society something." Well Charlie, looks like Bush has outdone you.

Gonna rant a bit about this, cause what Manson was saying is that the fucking warmongers in government start these massacres for corporate profits, they send the poor off to war and the rich sit back and get richer.

In any case, killing and war are crap. This war is a fucking disgrace to the human species. But I knew that shit going into it, and all the kings horses and all the kings men, took all the sheep to war again.

All wars are a disgrace. I still don't understand the mentality of someone joining an organization whose ultimate mission is probably going to involve killing someone.

Because they are delusional. Caught up in the indoctrination of nationalism, waving the flag, cheering for a massacre, praising their deity and worshiping their idols, protecting corruption. These people are brain-washed and they don't even know it. It's who they are. It's Hitler youth taken to the next level, it's embedded in education, national anthem, society at large. It's a superiority complex, a fundamental attribution error, part of the human fallacy. I suppose anyone could be a herder, as long as they realize first that they are a sheep.
