    Someone watched Fight Club one too many times. She was either out cold for a real long time or she's real good with her nails, but not too good with the brain.

    I'm not a cop, but I know people who got beat up and they look far, far worse than that. So, if she came out a couple days later and really looked like shit, I'd be more willing to buy it.

    I don't know if the mugging was a hoax, but I bet the "mutilation" was. She sets it up on her blog when she writes that she's on the wrong side of Pittsburgh. Fishy.

    couple thoughts from the conservatives over at Sean hannity's website---

    Never thought of that. I heard Hannity say that it was not caught on the ATM vid but did show her there around the time of the alleged incident. And now who in thier right mind who is working for the McCain Campain carve a frickin upside down B on thier cheek. I saw a picture on drudge and it was back ward or upside down however you look at it. But in the highly unlikly case that she did stage it She must be as scared of b.o. as the rest of us. Got to give her props on that.


    If the footage of her using the ATM shows no injuries and then the police report shows she had injuries and the time frame suggests that she couldn't have had time to inflict facial wounds on herself, well then...
    Of course if it is a hoax maybe she's secretly working for Obama...


    If it is a setup I wonder if it might be a setup by Obama supporters to try and tilt the elction for Obama after it comes out as a hoax.

    Interesting twist. Obama infiltrates the McCain campaign and hires a 20 year old to commit a hoax like this when he is pulling away in all the polls. Makes sense.

    Like I said since this was such a hate filled Obama supporter crime wouldn't she want medical after being assaulted like this? Maybe she didn't want anyone to take a closer look at her wounds.

    BTW everywhere I travel here in DC I see OBAMA...with emphasis on the O. It would seem much easier to carve an O than a B how many folks call him Barrack? Then again what do I know. I don't how to make that confused symbol only the sad and happy ones.

    In all fairness it's not her fault her face is all over the media. A story like this, whether true or not, right before the election, is going to get a HUGE spotlight. The funny thing is I live about a half hour from where this took place, and I heard about it from this board. I watch local and national news everyday. Refusing medical attention, I could see how that would be suspicious, although I know people who are like that. They don't want to pay if they don't have insurance. What's suspicious to me is that a) the B is backwards and b) it doesn't look like she was cut all that bad, if at all. If someone is so enraged that they are cutting you with a knife, you would think they would really tear up your skin. If it's true, she's lucky her face wasn't really butchered.

    This is actually a legitimate point. My girlfriend and I were watching this story on the news earlier and she said the exact same thing you did. If they were trying to get an Obama point across, why wasn't it an O instead of a B because generally people don't refer to him as Barrack. Ironic.

    I guess it depends on how recognizable you want the letter to be. It's hard to carve anything with curves with a straight edged weapon. I would expect to see something like you would find on a heavy metal album or something....letters with nothing but straight lines.

    The main thing is IF you did this to yourself one could never tell if you did this with the aid of a mirror to yourself.

    We shall see how this turns out cause she's going to grill about this whole story.

    First of all, it's kind of creepy that we're thinking about this in this manner. "Come on, if he wanted to get the point across he would have carved an O." But I understand people being suspicious, because it's starting to seem pretty suspicious. I think we should hold off on condemnation of one side or the other until more is known. I just can't imagine that someone would think through the logic of faking something like this, knowing the racial tensions it would intensify, etc. etc. It's kind of frightening, that potential thought process. That being said, it's probably better that than the alternative (i.e. it happened like she said), because then I'm sure racial tensions would be even more frayed.
