Any of you people ever seen anyone attacked by a knife? You try grabbing someone and holding them still and carving a letter into their face. They don't just lay there and say 'bring it on'. They fight. They have wounds to their hands, arms. Something does not add up here. I've seen many knife attack victims.
I'm not for one minute saying that she was not attacked at the ATM with the motivation being robbery. I have a huge problem with the 'B', for the reasons i have already stated above.
If the guy is crazy enough to walk up to her at an atm, rob her, and attack her with a knife I don't get why the knife wounds are so shallow and really, done so well. The "B" is actually curved, from what I can see and that's not easy to do with a straight edged weapon, especially in a quick, accurate fashion.
Just seems odd to me.

OK when I first heard this I believed this hook line and sinker however when I saw the photo this story does not hold water. I love forensic science and this doesn't hold up.
1. If you take a good look at the black eye it looks like make up there are no phases of bruising, different coloration (dark blue-purple-black)
2. No swelling around the eye (this after NOT knowing how long after the incident this photo was taken), no broken blood vessels in the eye therefore a blood shot eye. No surrounding superficial swelling or wounds. It appears to be a perfect punch to her left eye.
3. It matters none to me whether the B was upside or not but more of how superficial the B wound appears to be. It appears to may have been done carefully with a fingernail. It appears she never even bled.
She would have to be unconcious for that B to be carved into her faced and if that robber was so vicious he wouldn't want to take the time it would take to carve that B.
4. This happens outside the view of bank cameras, this fits so well together.
5. Lastly after a robbery like this you're going to cry, from what I can see in that photo it doesn't appear that she even cried.
I say simply give her a lie detector test and break it down from there.

I think the article above mentions she had a friend with her. What was the friend doing when this attack was going on? I'm not saying if it was a female, she would have been able to do much, but did she run and hide while her friend was attacked? I'm a chick, and I might have tried to whack some dude with my purse or something.
I know. Easy for me to say. I suppose I don't know what I'd do given the circumstances. But I'd like to think I'd try to help a friend who was friggin being cut by some guy.
To be objective, I have to say there would probably not be this much questioning on this board if an Obama supporter had been attacked by some guy in Ohio or something.
I disagree because jimed14 posted a story back on page 3 of an Obama supporter being attacked and I'd never heard it before. I think possibly McCain supporters are feeling unfairly portrayed lately so when they heard this story maybe they jumped to publicize it too quickly when they should've waited on some supporting evidence. This'll be embarrasing for them if it's not true....
Edit: I misread the original quote, I thought you were saying there wouldn't be as much publicity if it happened to an Obama supporter. Sorry!
What could've happened is that the attacked DID say something about her Mccain bumper sticker but actually didn't do anything in reacting to it other than verbal abuse and the woman decided to scratch the letter into her face for sympathy/anger.
Again, I wish no violence on anyone, and if she was truly attacked, I sincerely hope her attacker is found, prosecuted and thrown in jail ...
Damn.. she's the kind of person who I thought would jump all over this...

Of course it could. The real question is: Is that probable?
What effect would this have on the election? Why would someone vote for McCain because of this? It is not like Obama attacked her. Why is it not probable?

Playing conspiracy theorist here ... I think an attack on a white female by a black man in western Pennsylvania on the heels of Frank Murtha's comments about a "racist" constituancy would really start to get some white voters currently supporting Obama to think twice.
Race is certainly at play here.

Ok I can buy that. But with that why is noone in an uproar about Murtha's comments?
Edit:I'll make another thread for my question do not want to steal this one.

I'm not even talking about the election here. I'm asking how probable is it that any attacker would scratch out something on a victim's face from such a position? It makes zero sense. Did the attacker knock her out?
You asking me what effect this would have on this race is essentially asking me what this woman would be thinking to fake this. I am certainly not in a position to answer that other than to say 'something terribly misguided.'
That is fucked up. How can people get so violent and crazy over a presidential election? I can understand arguing but causing physical harm to another human being is beyond disgusting.

If I'm wrong, I apologize. But this story is a little fishy.

It can be backwards if when she was on the ground and the attacker was behind her head.

Sure, but would it be so perfectly legible? Would it be such a shallow wound? Would a person who was just cut by an attacker's knife refuse medical treatment?
It can be backwards if when she was on the ground and the attacker was behind her head.
But why would you attempt to restrain a person you're going to do bodily harm to in that manner? Personally, if I'm going to carve something into someone's face, I'm going to put my knees on each of their shoulders and go about my business of making sure they don't forget me for a long time. Which brings us back to how the flawlessly the "B' is done. I'm just not buying it. The curves look like they where done with one stroke. Or atleast with something thick enough to go over the original cut lines without making it obvious that it was scratched multiple times. I'm not entirely sure of when the attack took place, but i seriously, seriously doubt that an attack would take the time to do something like that with the chance of being seen by someone else.

yeah. I have good knife skills-from my culinary experience-and yeah, anything round or circular is not easy, takes time and a steady hand.
You'd have to do it with the tip of the knife wouldn't you?
yeah exactly. and it would have to be a small knife. you gotta hold the blade with your thumb and index finger, kind of towards the tip. its possible...but still. if your doing all that I can't imagine why it would be backwards.

Plus, the object would have to be still. Not trying to scream, talking you out of it, which would make the skin stretch and release, which in turn would have an affect on the wound itself. Did you see the thickness of the curves of the B? To get the thickness of that curve, you'd have to cut over and over, and each cut would be able to be identified rather than one continuous wound.
