Conspiracy Theory:term used to discredit institutional analysis.
ahh yes, since they don't care to look into it enough to discuss or debate these, they just try to make it like a joke or for 'crazy people'. Then they don't even state why they don't believe it. Crazy...What seems crazy to me is how they always buy into the official story no matter how ridiculous or improbable they may appear....when infact each version is just a theory with differents sets of facts and opinions leading in different directions. The official version just happens to always work out for the state whereas the other versions conflict with state interest. But let them go back to their little jokes, it seems to be all they have to discredit these theories anyway.
If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you.

Umm...I've seen dozen of conspiracy theories presented on this forum with some very good and thoughtful responses in rebuttal. You might want to read your own words above and ask yourself to whom it applies.

You are correct, I have seen a few that bother to discuss and actually read into these things but I was meaning it more in the overall sense.

Ok. Thanks for the clarification. It goes both ways.....the conclusion-then-fact model happens on both sides.
Yes, it does but my point was about how people just poke fun at some of these theories instead of looking into them and pointing out why they disbelieve them. I don't think that goes both way quite as often.

I certainly think conspiracy theorists are more often unfairly criticized as "crackpots" or "crazies", but they also more often suffer from a conclusion-first thought process.

Well, I can only speak for myself but I come across these theories and then read into them. I don't automatically buy it nor do I want to...some of this shit can really be unnerving especially the more you dig into it.

no to mention that all these conspiracies are probably all connected in someway.
fascinating, yes. but the various angles involved are endless.
maybe contemplating the conspiracies is even pointless: maybe i'm saying that because i don't know the circumference around each issue. its like a point in the middle of a circle. the point being the conspiracy. the circle being all the aspects involved.

Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.
The economy has polarized to the point where the wealthiest 10% now own 85% of the nation’s wealth. Never before have the bottom 90% been so highly indebted, so dependent on the wealthy.
Floyd...wow you can really link them threads together like a pro..
How do you do it?
