mexico has vast quanties of gold and oil. if el presidente didn't pocket the money mexico would be much better off. california is going broke. yuma arizona is one of the biggest producers of vegetables now. most of californias money is in the movie industry which can be moved anywhere.
there's a saying about california: california is like a box of cereal; what isn't fruits and nuts is flakes.
7th in the world market concerning oil production, what do you think this fence is really all about????? mexican people are decent and good, but have you ever noticed that second generational latino's who come from decent, hard working families, get indoctrinated in the capitalism race...almost like they lose their fundamental principles..wow! like losing their religion.....

when i have a gig in porta vallarta i go to that distillery. they have a tour about making tequilla. they make lots of different flavours. my favourite is the coffee. you can't imagine how smoothe it is.

land is aquired; not stolen. it's done to this day. in 2004 i aquired a couple acres by adverse possession. my neighbor put up a fence but it was well within his property line because it was easier for him to fence. i then fenced my property connecting to his fence. then i waited until i could go to court and claim it. when i sold i made an extra $50K on that property.

    You just lost me dude.
What exactly did you do with the neighbor?
Are you sayin you took the land he was living on or something?

you are not seeing the entire picture with california...what was once considered the fruit basket, is now being turned into monoculture. every where you see, fruit orchards are being taken out for vineyards (and these vineyard owners pull the water out of natural springs without permits, or use permits but exceed stipulations by building "illegal holding ponds" . so if we compare cali to a box of serial, try raisnin bran!!!

in the locality where i reside, which was once known as the pear capital of the word, is now vineyards...

stripping a way a habitat that fed local indigenous (pomo/miwok) tribes for 32,000 years...i take my camera out to measure the landscape and believe me, it almost seems like the feudal system has returned...

*what i have seen in northern cental valley consists of stawberries, sunflower plants and rice fields and where land has been depleted from nutrients, is just simply being sold off to developers for more regulated low/income housing..

it's not all santa monica blvd.....;)

you're right and i'm wrong. i admit that. but i'm taking the current situation into account. that being that the water arizona and nevada sold to california is needed in those states. california cannot support it's own population with water. so; hoover dam had to be built to provide water to california BEFORE it could become the state it grew into. that's my point. at the time of the treaty; ca was basically worthless.

Well, that's a decidely Western point of view. With the influx of Europeans, obviously, self-sustenance had to take on a different style than what the indigeneous people of the land needed, or were accustomed to seeing.

I don't know why but I am so very confused
about your neighbor and you with the fence
and the acres, as well as the going to court
    over it.

i'm not offended... i just think it shows ignorance of world history to say England instead of Great Britain... i.e. England fought Germany in WW2.

    no they didnt...

sorry, just that kind of thing bugs me.

    what you eating? :)

dunk, I think you're bored! :p I upset soooo many people by using the term Great Britian here on a post awhile ago I've simply tried not to use it since!!
Of course I should have known that you're damned if you do and damned if you don't around here! You don't have to convince me about England or Great Britain. Or about WW1 or WW2. Or who fought who and under what flag they did it. We were still saluting the Union Jack and singing God Save the Queen every morning at assembly when I was a kid and we'd been a nation for over 70 years by that time. Considering that I didn't even study World History in school here when I was growing up, one would hope that you could understand that it's not my intention to bug you or anybody else for that matter. Anyway, not trying to be ignorant or offensive and hopefully you'll remember that it's me here and understand that. :)

Dinner was semi burned chicken and vegetable stir fry with sweet chilli sauce and it wasn't bad! If a little too crispy and charcoal!! ;):D

Don't be worrying about getting yourself into trouble. Trouble will find you whenever it wants. I guess it's how we deal with it that defines us. :)
I guess I chose it because I like how it shows the two sides to a debate. In that you can speak your mind and you can say things that people really don't want to hear, and you should be able to do that, but it pays to remember that dispute usually always ends up hurting your opposition as well as yourself. I hope that whatever's going on with you that you are able to come to a good place within yourself. Inner peace is so underrated and sooo very important. :)

and thank you for saying so! that kinda helps validate me, warts and all! ;)
You're a good egg melodious! Have a great day.:)

I know you were trying to be kind, and we all know how melodious is sort of generally high and happy.

The thing is, to me, he got onto something here in this topic that couldn't be be ignored, and he was gentlemanly and respectful in the process.

    Effective.

    And inspiring.
