miller8966 wrote:lol what a gift to the republicans! I cant thank you enough Johnny boy.
I would take John Kerry over the gifts that the Republican controlled government has given us such as war, war and more war, fear, corruption, scandals, abuse of power, increase in deficit, unemployment and gas prices, loss of freedom in the name of security and God, the blundering of national security on 9/11 and for Hurricane Katrina as well as the loss of credibility with the rest of the world. And that's just a few of the great gifts we got from the Republicans."...believe in lies...to get by...it's divine...whoa...oh, you know what its like..."0 -
....well is it true or is it true? Sure there are some smart folks over there but it's long been my opinion that people join the military for one of three reasons.
1) Poverty (promised a job & money for education)
2) Ignorance (brainwashed into thinking that fighting is patriotic and noble)
3) Stupidity (like my best friend Tyler who knows the risks and doesn't believe in the cause, but he wants more flying time in a helicopter)
It's been argued on this board several times because people think they can come up with other reasons why someone would ever join the U.S. military but without fail, any reason will fall into one of these three categories.0 -
Kerry just said what many already know.
He is a fool in the political game for saying it.
I like to think of voting for corrupt politicians as a vote for the lesser of two evils. Where ever that evil might reside.
I hope one day that won't be the case."Don't let the darkness eat you up..."

That being said... You guys are grasping for threads, here. John Kerry? Come on... how long ago was that story?
you should be more concerned about the way YOUR party has been hi-jacked by these ultra-extremist far Right Wing fanatics. Look at all of the terrible things that have been done in your party... a gigantic, intrusive government. Since when was BIG government... that looks in your bank account and at your phone calls... been a Conservative value? What about the whole morals issues? Foley... Abramoff... Delay... is a 54 year old man jacking off to a teenager's messages your conservativism? Because it sure ain't mine. Same goes for corrupt deals to line the pockets of these greedy fucking assholes.
And Iraq... since when is fucking over our military personel by lying to them and shipping them overseas to be referrees in a fucking religious civil war part of the Republican Doctrine?
...
So, on one side you got Kerry...
On the other side you got Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Rice, Foley, DeLay, Abramoff, Iraq, inept handling of FEMA, gigantic government, intrusive policies, massive deficit... Looks like you got the shit end of the stick, here.
...
You guys need to quit acting like dicks and get this ship pointed in the right direction again. Put in office whoever will get America out of thise fucked up place we've been led. I don't care if they are Democrats or Republicans or Libertarians or Aliens... whoever gets us off this fucked up course.
I see this hullabaloo about Kerry's comments from the GOP, much ado about nothing. They really are just reaching for it this close to elections. Trying anything to distract the voters from the real issues.0 -

I don't see how Kerry's comment is any different from Michael Moore videotaping army recruiters targeting the poor side of town. Without poverty, we wouldn't have a military. At least Kerry has the guts to admit it.0

O i cant wait. My man, the genius Karl Rove, is going to have a field day with this one.
John Kerry just two years ago was the democratic nominee for president of the U.S, and now he goes out and bashes the troops. Beautiful timing johnny...all you had to do was keep that frankenstein looking trap of yours shut and the dems pretty much could have coasted next week.America...the greatest Country in the world.0 -

Guess what? The troops in Iraq are stuck there. They don't want to be there and they know that they shouldn't be there. It's not like Iraq is this noble war like WW2 or something like that. Americans are dying for nothing. Every time you utter shit like this, you are pissing on the grave of those people that got stuck in Iraq and never came out. Which does a greater dis-service to our fighting men and women?
Commenting that military enlistment is usually an option for those young people without very many options, possibly due to their lower intelligence... OR
placing the already Uniformed Soldiers in a prediciment of, 'Well... we shouldn't be here... but, we can't just leave... so you have to stay until some arbitrary situation occurs that looks good to us'.
...
What's worse... saying someone is stupid or treating someone like they're stupid and placing them in a place where bullets and bombs are?Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! Go Jayhawks!

As opposed to SENDING them to Iraq to rid the threat of nuclear, biological and chemical weapons to their families at home... telling them they will be able to come home once they train the Iraqis to defend themselves... 300,000 trainees later and not one U.S. soldier sent home for good... and leaving them in a situation where they are in the middle of these fucking Muslims are killing those fucking Muslims for killing that fucking Muslim... and getting shot at and blown up from all sides...
...
Again... tell me which is worse?
I'll take your calling me an idiot over strapping on a flak jacket in 120 degree fucking heat in a god forsaken hell hole on the other side of the planet... away from home, family and friends... where bullets are in the air and bombs are waiting for you in parked cars until some politician decides that the undefined, arbitrary 'job' is complete, anyday.Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! He shouldn't apologize. It seems to me that to students facing the "getting stuck in Iraq" option, this is good motivation to go and study. The people who enlist in the military now are stupid. They aren't stupid in that they have no skills, but they are stupid for believing that Iraq is the best alternative for them right now. The people who volunteered before Iraq were very unfortunate that you decided that America would benefit from invading Iraq for some reason (or at least agreed with your idiot president). America faces way more of a terrorist threat today than it did on September 12, 2001. Instead of kicking Al-Qaeda around a bit and trying to take steps to take the bullseye off of their chest, America decided to go ahead and paint a bigger bullseye on their chest. The states has the potential to be a great country, if greed and patriotism ever gave way to thought and reasoning. But it won't happen in any of our life times.1/12/1879, 4/8/1156, 2/6/1977, who gives a shit, ...0 -

Wow, I hate war and the military and have no sympathy for people who volunteer, but you do realize that there are some people who choose to fight for other reasons than they are just dumb, right? The only people we should try to get even with...

Your fettish support of republicans has made our country so silly. You have dumbed down the discourse and made politics the most divisive it could be. On the one side, you have Republicans that think Government has no role but to protect the flow of financial transactions and not to protect its citizens. It is simple...how can you expect a group of people that detest and have utter disdain for the safety aspects of government to ever be capable of governing effectively. On the other side you have Democrats that believe that strength comes from building networks and safety nets for its citizens and that dont see the world in black and white because it never is. You stand so tall but cry faster and louder than anyone. Nationalistic fools! John Kerry was talking about how idiotic Bush was, and by being so stupid, he got us stuck in Iraq. Kerry's language had nothing to do with the troops. You are so scared of being wrong you so you act like fourth graders and point your fingers and cry foul. Like little turd kids, red faced and crying your eyes out because you didnt get your way. You guys throw magnets on the back of your cars and waive a flag and that somehow is enough to convince yourself that you are a thoughtful and good American. You cannot name a single US troop and you dont even think about them as you buy your mega cheetos bags and drive your Hummers. And the funny thing is, we shouldnt be fighting eachother...my biggest conflict with the Bush administration is that it lies so badly we begin to hate eachother.....we should deal with their policy and we have a right to question what they do in our name. They will not take any responsibilty for themselves. BROKEN POLICY and hundreds of thousands of people have died. But you dont care.......you have the moral majority, but you are a catalyst to suffering around the world because you have it singed into your brains that everything we do is in the name of good and that we couldnt possibly have our own interest at the center of everything we do. Mistake after mistake after mistake, but you are willing to keep moving in line and nodding yes so long as you dont have to sacrifice.0
