O i cant wait. My man, the genius Karl Rove, is going to have a field day with this one.

John Kerry just two years ago was the democratic nominee for president of the U.S, and now he goes out and bashes the troops. Beautiful timing johnny...all you had to do was keep that frankenstein looking trap of yours shut and the dems pretty much could have coasted next week.

Commenting that military enlistment is usually an option for those young people without very many options, possibly due to their lower intelligence... OR

This was a bonehead move on many levels. There's not really an excuse for it. He needs to apologize and hope people forget.

He shouldn't apologize. It seems to me that to students facing the "getting stuck in Iraq" option, this is good motivation to go and study. The people who enlist in the military now are stupid. They aren't stupid in that they have no skills, but they are stupid for believing that Iraq is the best alternative for them right now. The people who volunteered before Iraq were very unfortunate that you decided that America would benefit from invading Iraq for some reason (or at least agreed with your idiot president). America faces way more of a terrorist threat today than it did on September 12, 2001. Instead of kicking Al-Qaeda around a bit and trying to take steps to take the bullseye off of their chest, America decided to go ahead and paint a bigger bullseye on their chest. Your fettish support of republicans has made our country so silly. You have dumbed down the discourse and made politics the most divisive it could be. On the one side, you have Republicans that think Government has no role but to protect the flow of financial transactions and not to protect its citizens. It is simple...how can you expect a group of people that detest and have utter disdain for the safety aspects of government to ever be capable of governing effectively. On the other side you have Democrats that believe that strength comes from building networks and safety nets for its citizens and that dont see the world in black and white because it never is. You stand so tall but cry faster and louder than anyone. Nationalistic fools! John Kerry was talking about how idiotic Bush was, and by being so stupid, he got us stuck in Iraq. Kerry's language had nothing to do with the troops. You are so scared of being wrong you so you act like fourth graders and point your fingers and cry foul. Like little turd kids, red faced and crying your eyes out because you didnt get your way. You guys throw magnets on the back of your cars and waive a flag and that somehow is enough to convince yourself that you are a thoughtful and good American. You cannot name a single US troop and you dont even think about them as you buy your mega cheetos bags and drive your Hummers. And the funny thing is, we shouldnt be fighting eachother...my biggest conflict with the Bush administration is that it lies so badly we begin to hate eachother.....we should deal with their policy and we have a right to question what they do in our name. They will not take any responsibilty for themselves. BROKEN POLICY and hundreds of thousands of people have died. But you dont care.......you have the moral majority, but you are a catalyst to suffering around the world because you have it singed into your brains that everything we do is in the name of good and that we couldnt possibly have our own interest at the center of everything we do. Mistake after mistake after mistake, but you are willing to keep moving in line and nodding yes so long as you dont have to sacrifice.

Of course, you know by now that he was calling BUSH an idiot who got stuck in Iraq. But the 10 second clip robs it of all context.

Thanks for extending me a tissue. Unfortunately, I dont need one at all. Besides, the last thing I want to do is take up any of your Kleenex tissues as they are highly needed for your late night dates with your computer. We can keep it really simple as it sounds like that is all you can handle.

Why are we in Iraq and please define what victory will be?

If asking that question scares you or makes you think that I am unpatriotic, we have a lot to talk about. And I can talk about them, though I dont have the faith you even know how to listen, let alone form coherent and plausible arguments.

You have no plan and you never have had one. You dont plan because being thoughtful is painful to you......but, again, let's keep it simple. Just answer me those two questions.

I think the plan is to, "Keep on keepin' on".
That's it. Seriously. It's in a plain, manila envelope stamped 'TOP SECRET' 'SECRET PLAN'... inside it there is a piece of regular bond paper with the words, "Keep on keepin' on" written in purple crayon across it.
The really sad part... this plan took 2 and a half years for them to develop.

You are the tool used by the worst type of people in power. You are a catalyst to ignorance, hatred and division. You are doing all of this on purpose to catapult a lie. You are dangerous because you are knowingly lying to yourself. It really is bizzare???? You are not looking for answers to anything because you have people on the radio and at the podiums to make them up for you. Kerry said he wouldnt appologize to anyone for George Bush's failed policy and you keep the lie going that Kerry was referring to our troops at any level. What Kerry was saying is very true and, sadly, very accurate.....it takes an ignorant person; unschooled in history, politics and cultures; to have the hubris to invade a historically culturally and ethnically divided country without even being curious of the possible negative outcomes. It wasnt even a question as to whether or not we would succeed. He had faith we would succeed and he took no steps to ensure it. Now, I cannot even get an answer from you about what success would be. And that, my incurious, unquestioning friend, is how you get stuck in iraq. Bush - all by himself - got us stuck in Iraq. Our troops are fighting heroically and bravely and in the worst of conditions......being led by a man that has only his own political standing at the heart of every decision he will ever make. The bottom line is that the ultimate support we can extend to our troops is to never send them into harms way unless it is the last choice and final necessity....and, when we do, support them at every level and provide them everything needed to win. Bush got them into a totally unnesseccary war, and our solution is to figure out how to best LEAVE while providing the least worst outcome for a horrendously torn country. That is all Bush's doing, and we recognize the death and suffering and know there is no positive solution to this. We want a new path because it will only get horribly more worse from here on out. That is the ultimate support....not the three dollar magnet on your car that went straight to a company not related to the military. Bush abused this responsibility and we are begging someone on your side to at least be curious and thoughtful when it comes to handling such a massive responsibility,,,,...but I dont see it. Instead you pick some words out of a speech, gather all your talking heads and plan how to attack us. Spend a little piece of your energy on doing something for someone other than those in your tribe and your fearfilled clan......

no, i'm not answering any of your bullshit questions. you want to talk down to people around here in your first two posts because they don't think or vote like you, then you can fuck off. i'm sick and tired of this bullshit. this forum is dominated by what seems to be college geeks that just want to pound away at the keyboard, slamming anyone that's republican. i'm sick of reading it and i'm not going to be a party to it anymore. honestly, my stomach turns when i read the drivel around here. it's too bad, too. there are a few people on both sides of the aisle that actually do debate and don't stoop to the constant egging. some could learn a good lesson from them.

See, I think that John Kerry is a big bag of douche, but what he said has truth in it that most people just don't want to admit.

We send our poor, uneducated masses off to war. Sure, these folks go into the military often to escape their dead end lives, and in return get the world's best military training plus the G.I. bill, but Kerry is fundamentally correct.

Aint no Ivy leaguers over there dodging bullets in the sand.
  • I think this whole thing is yet another desperate measure by the Republicans to distract the American people.

Bush and the Republican Congress want to deflect attention to the fact that they have failed to properly equip our troops, that the families of our servicemen and -women live in crappy housing and sometimes have to go on food stamps to survive, that they are de-funding VA treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder and research into traumatic head injuries, and that they have absolutely no plan to get us out of there -- apart from staying the course . . . no wait, NOT staying the course.

So the question isn't really what's wrong with John Kerry -- the guy who lost 2 years ago and hasn't presided over all these disasters. The real question is why do the Republicans hate our troops?

And I was banned less than ONE HOUR after I made the comment. Yet I can't even get an email answer when I report the BILLION rude posts made by liberals here every day. What a joke this place has become. Open debate and discussion my ass. I can't help but wonder why so many other RUDE comments are allowed, and/or encouraged by the mods here........
