c'mon, that's harsh. what about "misunderestimated"?
He got lucky for once! :)
Harsh? Starting a full scale war without justification and creating a catastrofuck, that's harsh..

Yes and that settles it, global warming is a myth, modern science is wrong and Vaclav Klaus is one of the most enlightened persons living in this day and age.

Global warming, man made or not, will kill more than terrorist will, weather in general killed a lot more humans than terrorist, and both can't be stopped completely...

We have about 15°C when it's supposed to be around 0°C or under this time of the year and except for a 1hr snowstorm (the snow melted again within a few hours) no snow. On a shortsighted personal level, I think it's great, but on a global level, it's scary.

Never heard about a "no winter" clause for the future, i've heard that global warming might bring more extreme weather conditions to many part of the globe, including winter extreme. Of course if you base your criticism on Al Gore's views only, then we have a problem, i think he's not very credible myself...

Haha, I presume you're messing around again, you are right tho, we should spend more money on fighting terrorism, look how well that's been working out! They all love us, showered us with flowers, greeted us as liberators, after the Iraq and Afghan invasions the terrorist attacks stopped and being more aware of our energy consumption and pollution will be the downfall of western society!

i agree with you 100 percent. terrorism is not a threat at all and no money should go to stopping it.

Afghanistan was certainly better off when the taliban was in charge, especially in the realm of womens and gay rights.

Global warming is so important i will no longer litter

Dude I was just messing around! And instead of agreeing with me, you completely don't in the lines that followed...

Terrorism is a problem, it always has been, it's just that the US failed to get Afghanistan secure and let's not start about Iraq, maybe that would've been a bit better with Gore as president.. Women and guy rights today are hardly any better than in the days of the Taliban, schools that have opened their doors are often burned down, the list goes on. Yet this is not what this thread is about, global warming is a fact, and if you agree with Gore or not, it is something that with some effort we can do something about.

The theory is that if/when the glaciers melt in the north, the surge of freshwater from them will travel down into the Atlantic Ocean. This is going to block the flow of warm salt water northward (I forget the name of this current) which is gonna REALLY fuck up our climates in North America and Europe. No summers in England for example.

At this point, saying that global warming isn't man made is like saying that the world isn't round. Wether you give to shits about it or not, it's proven to be happening.

Even if it's not... I ask, what's wrong with cutting the pollution we continually dump into the air and water? Is money worth more valuable to us than air and water?

I agree. Maybe not in our lifetime, but if we continue to grow at the rate we are, there is going to be a big backlash. This planet can't support us forever at the rate we are consuming from it. We can either learn to adapt now or face mass extinction in coming years. I really think we will be the end of ourselves unless we change our habits.

From what i understand... part of Global Warming is the deterioriation of the polar ice caps. As these regions melt, colder water is introduced to the oceans, driving down the temperature of the ocean. Meanwhile, the ocean temperatures along the planet's equator rise. Where these two meet are where the planet's weather systems are generated... the greater difference in temperatures... the greater effect on the turbulence.

You and the folks who make this kind of agruement and these kinds of statements don't realize how retarded you make yourself sound. Please educate yourself just a little about this subject. Global warming causes climate change which leads to climate extremes. As these things roll along you get what is called positive feedback--problems start compounding in leaps and bounds. You get increasingly frequent extremes in heat AND cold.

Not exactly. It isn't the fact that the water is cold that will/is causing a climate change, it's the fact that water in the glaciers is fresh water. That stops the flow of warm currents from the southern hemisphere (salt water).

I understood it was something to do with the melting of the Ice Caps. From what I understood, the Ice Caps are a means to regulate global temperature.
    Thanx for the clarification.

It might be both, but I think the big thing is the halting of the warm current.

Wow, thanks for the clarity. I now fully understand the causes and effects of global warming.

Though I do thank you for sharing your fact-filled, indepth, if not downright exciting, story.

Dude, its scientifically proven the earth is getting warmer wether you think its our fault or not, wether you care or not. Just because its extremely cold in one place at a certain time does not mean the average global temperature is not warming. Since 1977 the average global temperature has risen 1 degree. You cannot argue any wether trend in a particular region over a short span for or against it. Its fucking cold where I am now, and I'll take the degree!.. Something like 90% + scientists agree, but I guess you know more than them because you get all your facts here.

I'm not argueing for or against us taking action. I'm just telling you, its getting warmer globally.
