I disagree with the writer that at this point Bush's crimes are irrelevant. I believe time is of the essence. We have only so long to make sure he is dishonorably discharged from the presidency. I want this man to leave office with a badge of shame.

I agree. That Bush is leaving office in a few months is irrelevant. If he and his party are guilty of these crimes, then justice ought to be served. A successful impeachment may be the first step to a criminal trial.
If it was at all possible to bring Hitler to justice right now, would any one of us say that because he's no longer in power, it's irrelevant? A pastor in a church who abuses a child........ is it irrelevant that he no longer works in the church where the abuse took place? I could go on........
