Why the hate for liberalism from Republicans?

Yeah one day I did have enough of his diatribe, so I raised me hand and asked him what he thought should be done differently with the war on terror, this was right before Iraq if I remember correctly. I told him it was easy to criticize everything and everyone else, but what ideas did he have to do things differently. He wouldn't answer the question."Things will just get better and better even though it

Hope&Anger wrote:Really? How did you get kicked out of a class for asking a question?
I challenged the professor on the "Contract on America" as she called it (she was actually just a grad student who was teaching the class) by asking how, exactly, it was being drawn up just to hurt minorities in this country. She said I was being disruptive. I asked her to answer and she told me not to bother coming back. I went back one more time to fill out an evaluation. That never really got read anyway.0 -

Hope&Anger wrote:I'm confused. You asked a single question and got called disruptive? And you got excluded from the class? Did you ever try to go back? You didn't complain to the head of the department? (I assume that you failed because you stopped doing the assignments. Or were you doing the assignments and getting bad grades because of your views?)
I stopped doing the assignments once I realized that multiple choice questions were nothing more than opinion. I quit fighting that fight once I ran into a brick wall at the department (couldn't get a meeting) and then I just quit caring so much. This was just one of the examples of times that I would be in trouble for questioning the opinions held by the University. After taking a few years off of college, I realized that, when I went back, it was just easier to say what they wanted to hear and get the hell out of there rather than try to have a mind of my own. Obviously I still do but now I have a degree from them. For this reason, my college diploma is sitting on the floor of my closet somewhere now.0 -
Hope&Anger wrote:Really? He wouldn't say anything? Did he just ignore you? That must have been weird.
Yeah it was weird. If I remember correctly he told me it wasn't his job to make policy or something like that. I can't recall exactly what he said, but he in no way gave an alternative explaination. I wish he would have given me some of his ideas on the way things should be. I can't imagine with the contempt he showed our current administration he didn't have some ideas.0 -
I am for a balanced, nonpartisan government. I hate anyone who leans too far in either direction. We as a nation operate better from the middle ground than we ever will from either extreme. I do feel as though the current sitting US president is too far to the Christian right and that does not support my best interest.
Plus, I am not for any one party to control all 3 branches (House, Senate, White House) of our federal government. The key is though for all congressman/woman to be more middle grounded and willing to work with the opposing party.
I personally wouldn't mind if the Dems held control of both the Senate and the House, and have say John McCain in the White House. He is way more of a middle ground GOP candidate....just like the more middle grounded Dems who just won their seats.0 -

I honestly don't hear Dems or liberals ever saying they "hate" Republicans. They don't love them, sure. Some will even say they hate them. But most at least have respect for people with more conservative views. But there was a rally in the 80's during the Reagan "Revolution" where a group of YOUNG neo-cons, Abramoff included in the group, began to chant "Death to the Democrats, Take their blood!"
...
That's just obsene. I would never, even in jest, suggest the slaughter of Republicans. If you want to argue that this doesn't exist, this was an email to CNN after they opened a forum asking what Democrats should do now that they are in majority in the Congress;
"Matt Clark from Saint Charles, Missouri
What should the Democrats do first? Step down. That'd be the only productive thing they are capable of doing to secure America and its future."
And that was posted on CNN.com, not IHATELIBERALS.com
I seriously want to hear viewpoints on this.Let's not be negative now. Thumper has spoken0 -

I love the way liberals try doing these clever little sarcastic jokes are all like "Ahhhhh
" when everyone is really just like "I dont give a shit"
I hate the way Republicans/conservatives will moan the shit out of an issue yet they won't come up with any solution.no matter where you go,
there you are.
