    Obama '08!!!!!!
  • I'll take Obama-Feingold for 1000, Alex...
  • It feels like a Republican could get just as excited for Obama as a Democrat if they didn't know his voting record.

Knowing his voting record, I can't help but think that all of his platitudes are just as useless as the long-term DC politician who has consistently sold out the American people time and again.

I know how he's voted and there's nothing special about him. He votes for shit I don't like! No amount of classy one-liners can convince me that Obama's vision is any better than Hilary Clinton's.
All I know is that to see, and not to speak, would be the great betrayal.

LMAO ! Yet you really like Tom Tancredo or whatever the guy's name is. At least read your script.
    War is Peace
    Freedom is Slavery
    Ignorance is Strength
  • LOL This is truly epic.

A bunch of know-nothings who claim that Bush is the most ignorant President this country has ever known are willing to chance America's future on a candidate who has the least amount of political experience as any candidate has ever had. Atleast he'll sound like he knows what he's doing, right!?

Let's HOPE so! You people would elect a retarded pigeon if it meant "change."

Didn't we already do that? I'm pretty sure I saw him on 60 Minutes on Sunday.

Sweet. It didn't take as long as I thought it might.

Gingrich and Juliani are front-runners for me. Both are political heavyweights compared to Bush and Obama. If you want to hold a gun to my head I'll go with Gingrich. He's a Reagan conservative and I like that. Juliani will run into problems with conservatives with his pro-choice, pro-gay and pro-gun control views.

See... Imput. Not zingers. You should try it.

You're taking me way to seriously. I doubt Gingrich will get the nomination. Too many skeletons. Rudy will be strong in the beginning (like Obama now) but I'm not sure he can keep his 9-11 juice going and as you said his left leaning social views.

lol Right. Everytime I try to be light-hearted I'm lambasted by every one of you. Now I'm being a stiff...

nice textbook version of turning a political argument into something else because you know you can't win the argument.

what are the substantive reasons we should support him?

Given our obsession with reality tv and all the crap...i'm guessing the most popular politicians are the worst.

I already gave sufficient reasoning from my POV, he's the best guy ever...at least in my lifetime.

Substantive reasons would probably be covered in his Audacity Of Hope book should you take a notion to read such things.

    Not really.

Essentially, he established an illegal dictatorship. He ignored the constitution and enlarged the federal government.

    He did poorly.

Both Gingrich and Mayor 9-11 have incidents in their respective pasts that would be brought up during the GOP primary if either or both decide to run.

    yeah, thanks for engaging.

i respect people like denis kucinich, howard dean, etc...b/c they are real...hell..it's why i respect most of the left posters on here. they have their firm beliefs and don't bullshit you. people that follow charisma when choosing politicians...it's kinda pathetic.

Oh, you betcha. Tancredo/Hunter 2008!!! *snickers*

I know you're probably just trying to get a rise out of people, but I'll try to humor you.

His ultra-punitive stance on immigration will see to that. It's the only thing most people know about him, and the majority of Americans aren't NEARLY as far right as he is on the issue. All his maniac raving about culture wars and a Hispanic invasion are going to turn off lots of people, even some Republicans.

Florida's a pretty important state on the electoral map. How's he going to win there after calling Miami a "slum"?

Actually he called it a third world country.

And he will win because hispanics can't vote since they're illegal.

There's something to your arguement, but would you apply that standard to Reagan? He was hugely popular and considered by many to be extremely telegenic.

As far as Obama, I'm not really understanding the level of animosity I'm seeing towards him. None of the guys that are positioning themselves to run have offered anything substantial as far as initiatives or policy proposals. Why should Obama have to roll out a 9 point plan to fix Social Security if Newt Gingrich doesn't?
