    Why? I don't usually agree with him (her?), but do you honestly disagree with that post?

    Of course I don't disagree with his post.

    But, if you follow Drifting's pattern of posts, you might notice that he believes he is some kind of modern day Paul Revere of conspiracy theorists, in that he thinks we're all just sound asleep in our beds, unaware of what's going on under the cover of darkness.

    For example, in the post of his that I quoted, he talks about how the reason he thinks the way that he does is because he does not waste his time playing video games and tuning in to pop culture.

    In another thread, he went on about his ability to not believe everything the government says, and to look beyond mainstream media for world views.

    It's like a red herring mixed with some appeal to authority, topped off with a bifurcation. The red herring is the creation of a "sheep" class of individual who clearly lacks intuition and independent thinking. The appeal to authority is his supposed devotion to research and bookworming. The bifurcation is the belief that people are simply divided up into those categories, and that his views are clearly in the latter category.
