I'm sorry, but the idea that AIDS was invented by the U.S. government is simply laughable. I'm not saying that they wouldn't have if they could, but the technology wasn't there. Now, thirty years later after incredible scientific advances, that is still out of our reach.
Actually it would be possible now and chances are it was possible then. Creating a virus from scratch is nearly impossible but using a similar virus (aids in other species exists since long ago) and altering it so it can infect humans is totally possible. Now I don't agree on the other hand that they would do it.
The chances that a virus jumps from one specie to another is much higher than the chances to find a whole team of psychopats dedicated to create the most deadly human virus we've seen since a 100 years.

And then one remembers the Delta 32 gene, which protected people from the black plague hundreds of years ago and also gives some people today an immunity to AIDS. Was the black plague also a government experiment? Probably not. So, how is it that a naturally occurring gene can fend off an lab-created super virus?
All that the delta-32 gene does, is it codes for ccr5 receptor on the surface of T cells. HIV uses the ccr5 receptor to infect our T cells. People with the mutation in the Delta 32 gene don't express the ccr5 receptor, so they are unable to be infected by HIV. There is no reason why it would matter whether the gene being infected was lab created or not.

That being said, documented cases of AIDS from the sixties make it seem pretty unlikely that it was created in a lab.

The world is like a ride in an amusement park, and when you choose to go on it you think it's real because that's how powerful our minds are. The ride goes up and down, around and around, it has thrills and chills, and it's very brightly colored, and it's very loud, and it's fun for a while. Many people have been on the ride a long time, and they begin to wonder, "Hey, is this real, or is this just a ride?" And other people have remembered, and they come back to us and say, "Hey, don't worry; don't be afraid, ever. Because this is just a ride." And we...kill those people. "Shut him up! I've got a lot invested in this ride, shut him up! Look at my furrows of worry, look at my big bank account, and my family. This has to be real." It's just a ride. But we always kill the good guys who try and tell us that, you ever notice that? And let the demons run amok? But it doesn't matter, because it's just a ride. And we can change it any time we want. It's only a choice. No effort, no work, no job, no savings of money. Just a simple choice, right now, between fear and love. The eyes of fear want you to put bigger locks on your doors, buy guns, close yourself off. The eyes of love instead see all of us as one. Here's what we can do to change the world, right now, to a better ride. Take all that money we spend on weapons and defenses each year and instead spend it feeding and clothing and educating the poor of the world, which it would pay for many times over, not one human being excluded, and we could explore space, together, both inner and outer, forever, in peace.

To be honest, i don't think the idea is that laughable. i don't know how it would have been done, i won't pretend to know what was combined with what, but i do believe it was created in a lab. The story i heard many years ago is that it was "stumbled upon" or created by scientists working on germ warfare. i don't know if its true or not, but i just don't think its all that unthinkable. i'm not generally a conspiracy theorist, but it's not hard for me to believe the AIDS virus was "created".

and then unleashed on africa for what point and purpose? im willing to bet aids was out there for 100 years before we found out about it and it had migrated to the west enough to register as a separate disease with us. prior to lab testing, it wouldn't have looked like a separate disease. it destroys your immune system and you die of something else. to them, it would have just looked like a frail person died of flu or whatever.

I was looking for real clips explaining the history of true U.S state sponsored terrorism

    Nicaragua

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicaragua_v._United_States

'The court stated that the US was "in breach of its obligations under customary international law not to use force against another State", "not to intervene in its affairs", "not to violate its sovereignty", "not to interrupt peaceful maritime commerce", and "in breach of its obligations under Article XIX of the Treaty of Friendship, Commerce and Navigation between the Parties signed at Managua on 21 January 1956."

The court had 16 final decisions which it voted upon. In Statement 9, the court stated that the US encouraged human rights violations by the Contras by the manual entitled Operaciones sicologicas en guerra de guerrillas. However, this did not make such acts attributable to the US.

The Court ruled in Nicaragua's favor, but the United States disputes the jurisdiction of the court to hear this case, or to abide by the Court's decision.'

    Why?
Because i don't get off on hours of anime, and endless wanker US pop culture? Or don't spend 15 hours a day playing Halo 3 or whatever the latest video game is?

I used to spend a lot of time reading about Permaculture, and sustainable design, and "green" stuff ... but you know what? That is kinda far removed from me right now.

I don't want to spend anytime (or lots of money) on school right now, and i don't want to go back to volunteering on someone elses farm (which i have done before) ... so i focus my spare time on brushing up on history & politics while trying to amass enough money to get myself a farm and a strawbale house.

    ;)

    What's so wrong with that?

Once you get settled, give me a call. I fancy a change of scenery, and a job where I can get my hands dirty.
I'm fed up with working for wankers.

Edit: I'm drunk...I'm off to China next week. I''ll see how that goes. I still love America though. One day I'm gonna come over yonder and tear it a new one. :)

You may want to check out ATTRA.
In the last 10 years it has really grown as a resource for cool alt-farm employemnt\internship opportunities.

Also, woof or "willing workers on organic farms" or "world wide opportunities on organic farms" has always been a good source.

If you want to get your hands dirty, there are plenty of ways to do it. Some pay, some just provide food and shelter. All provide lots of experience and hands on learning.

I just stopped following that path, because i actualy want to hold my own land, not just work for someone elses farm forever. Its not so much that i want the money and the ownership, i just want to plan it the way i want. I want to be part of the organizing force of the exercise.

But i've got a ways to go, so check out some other opportunities while you can.

    ;)

Actually, I'm just biding my time until I sell my flat/apartment this year - or maybe next year - and then I'm gonna travel for a year or two. I'll se how China goes first. We'll see how it goes. But I do like the States. I have a feeling I'll be swinging my inconsiderable dick there again at some point.

Edit: I just hope you pussy's get some decent fucking beer there sometime in the near future!

    Good luck.
You want good beer and your headed to China !?!
Bwahahah. Have fun drinking the Tsing Tao!
    :D

I'm actualy busting open a bottle of St. Bernardus 12 as we speak.

If you want good beer in America, imho, its Belgian bottles or bust. Most of our microbrews are heavy on the hops and light on the alcohol ... i like mine the reverse of that ... and smooth.

Bottle of Duvel, St. Bernardus, Piraat, Val-Dieu, Chimay, La Chouffe, St. Benedictus, Kwak, Delerium Tremens ...

thems all good stuff, and can even be found here in crappy ole Georgia!

Assuming that you don't do those things, it still doesn't make any sense to assume that every one else must be doing just that. And that way of thinking also implies that people who don't lolligag must have views that are like your own. Of course, that is far from the truth.

Again, this is more about painting yourself as someone who does not obsessively play video games. Good for you.

Wow, I rarely see that much effort being put into building oneself up for the sake of appearing informed. You seem to be preoccupied with creating the illusion that in a world of sheep and intellectuals, you clearly must be one of the intellectuals, and therefore your opinions must be correct. Not only is the world not that simple, but it's kind of delusional to think that it is.
