Dude... you're an adult. Take some responsibility and pay the guy. When you buy something from someone, especially another fan, make sure you pay them back in a timely manner. He's not Visa or Mastercard - you're not supposed to carry a balance with him and pay it off over time.

I agree a lot of the comments in that thread got carried away, but the bottom line is that the guy shouldn't have had to chase you around for the cash. Just because you helped the dude out and bought the tickets from him at the last minute doesn't mean that you can take your time paying him back.

BTW... did I miss it somewhere in your post or did it say that you actually paid the guy back yet?

Nice to put up a post about the debacle but you could have just said "I should have taken it more seriously" and left it at that. Kinda sorta passing it onto your wife and making it kinda sorta her fault was a lame excuse. "I thought she took care of that" is always a bad way of saying "it wasn't me".


Being passed all that crap... hope you had a good time in Disney! Sorry to know about your trip but apparently nothing is sacred around here!

Rich, I’ve made it very clear that this place is not what it used to be and I’ve shown it by not coming here nearly as often as I used to. The only reason I do is to catch up with some of the friends I’ve made from across the world and to make sure I don’t miss any big PJ news.

I too have been a part of this board for ten years now and it is has been quite sad to see the direction it has taken. It used to be a community of people that shared the same passion for a band and in turn shared a sense of kinship toward each other.

Unfortunately, it appears it has been overcome with a bunch of immature, nasty people that seemingly don’t know how to interact with others and are so ready to insult someone at the drop of hat.

It really is quite sad.



See you at the next PJ show, whenever that may be.

You know...I was just talking to a friend over the phone the other day about that.

We couldn't believe how worst it had gotten and how far some folks would go on the internet.

Reputations were made and destroyed just like that.

I've learned to at least stand back and making assessments of what's really going on instead of taking sides.

I realized after talking to my friend - it is not just the internet, but also that is how politics work and people are picking that up.

I also learned that people almost always have an agenda.

It's sad. :(


We just have to remind people and even drop in positive comments from time to time to let everyone know that there are indeed good people out there with good intentions.

and there is one of the friends I've made on this board and have had the pleasure of enjoying a few shows with her and her hubby over the years.

I think some people are a product of the times in that it is too easy to hide behind a computer screen and therefore, it gives you some kind of comfort in being able to say whatever you want regardless of who gets hurt - because you don't have to know who they really are or what they're really about

I also fear that as a result of this, people are going to lose one of the most important skills one can have in life and that is the ability to communicate with others - on a personal level.

that being said, RVM is on the radio right now and I am thorougly enjoying it

how's that for staying positive?

Its this that rubs me the wrong way. The guy did not chase me around, he sent 1 measage when he had my phone number, he also told me in his original measage that it wasnt a big deal when I mailed the money, this would have been my aproach I still have people on here that owe me from 2 years ago, even in his last measage he mentioned getting togehter for a ed solo show, and tht was it. Look I said Iwas sorry, I mailed him a check and sent him a copy of msg 2 08, I completeley understand I was wrong in assuming my way of handling money isnt always the same as others, the problem here is there was no thievery intened, and I never set out to stiff anyone so I didnt see it that way, so again my fault for being lazy and not on top of it. The fact of the matter is how nasty people are on here. And how long it tokk to be locked and not only till I came home was the post removed after I sent kat a reply that had me name and location in it, it had my wife worried.

1 person went as far as to call me an irrisponsible father and a fraud and a thief who shoul be bashed on hewre everyday and called me a scumbag.
another went as far as to bash my friend and acuse him of being me, and another said as far as an irrigation bussiness owner I am a fraud becasue I took a vacation in august. In new jersey people do not spend money in august is always slow, they go down the shore.
So I think these comments are rediculous, they ar so rediculous it hasnt kept me from showing my face on here, it just sucks this board has dropped to this.

Than why would you go out of your way to break balls if nobody here cares, you obviously do it to look cool, so you obviously care. And the previous thread was 12 pages long, this is my response, now why besides maybee 1 reply or 2 do we need to go back and forth except for the reason of bashing.
I was sorry, way to lazy in straightening out my affairs and this is my response to 12 pages of crap. I will never again do anything over this measage board that is not handled in person.

That is so cool! And there is one of the friends I've made on this board that I enjoyed meeting in person and having a blast just being myself without being judged - even when I am silly, which is more than half of the time! I was glad to inform her that I did donate my blood to the red cross!

I'm already derailing Rich's thread...but you know how visual I am and I love listening/watching the interpreted versions of the songs in American Sign Language along with the sounds!

I got in touch with him, hoping he was a PJ fan. *grins* No dice, but he was nice enough to at least consider maybe one in the future. He's cute...and gay. Which is perfect cuz Bobby wouldn't have to feel threatened! Heh!

I was really saying goodbye to future PJ shows due to the interpreters issues/fucks up/venue issues - lolla 07 was the final straw.

But I got an usual youtube message from one interpreter who was willing to demonstrate his skills and wanting a possible job in interpreting for PJ shows. Hmm. He says he interpreted for PJ at Bonnaroo but didn't see a video of him doing it. I appreciated that 'cause a lot of terps usually have entitlement attitudes and not wanting to take inputs/ideas on how to translate into ASL. Pfft. But we'll see... at this point, it's no and I am done. But Bobby will still go, though - with Raina! I trust you and others will show her how to flow with the crazy folks just like her mom! *grins*

Anyway...I really think this topic should just die and let the sleeping dogs lie.

Mel, Ilm sorry to hear you're still so frustrated over the lack of a decent interpreter for PJ shows, you will be sorely missed. :( but I do understand

it's all about the PJ love folks, some times things happen, but they have a way of working themselves out
