    There in his newsletters!!

His only argument was that he had no idea that they were printed???

    Sounds like the typical cop-out.

    Here's another

“[O]ur country is being destroyed by a group of actual and potential terrorists—and they can be identified by the color of their skin.”

Don't you think a candidate running for President would have a little more control over things printed in his name, on his very own newsletter, sent out to his people?

I'm sorry but there is no excuse for such an oversight.

    No Excuse

So I'm assuming then that you believe Obama was wrong for his continued parishenership in Rev. Wrights church after he made those comments.

Your missing the key point here. Rev Wrights comments were not spoken by Obama, printed in HIS VERY OWN NEWSLETTER, or spoken by anyone associated with his campaign.

Ron Paul uses the lame ass excuse that he had no idea what was being printed in his newsletter??? I'm sorry...but that is just about the lamest excuse on the face of the earth.

How could this slip by Paul or any of the people he has in charge of his campaign.

It may have been a year ago...but I'm sorry...I don't feel this kind of thing should be tossed under the carpet. especially after such a lame ass pigeon shit response from Paul himself.

    What a bunch of Crap.

Through out the primaries he brought up the economy and the housing bubble but every other candidate and the media ignored him. For two decades now the man has been talking about how our current economic system would largely implode if we didn't change course.

Exactly 1 year ago Obama went to Wall Street and wrote a report about how the current economic system would not sustain itself and ultimately fail. This was ridiculed, and largely ignored. Funny how a year later Obama's very own prediction has come true.

Futhermore Obama has introduced 4 bills relating directly to this very economic issue, asking for restrictions to be made on Wall Street CEO's as well as regulations to the morgage and loan process.

the article in mention was printer over 16 years ago. paul wasn't even in Congress at the time so there was no campaign team around him and he was at best remotely involved at the time with the newsletter. the fact is it's a non-story dug up to smear a candidate by his opponents because they could not go toe to toe with him on the issues.

As for the Rev. Wright issue it can be said, not that I agree with it, that Obama supported those statements because he continued to attend Wright's sermons and continued to count him amongst his friends. So if you want to hold Paul responsible then Obama should be held responsible as well.

As to Obama's report about the economy. Yes he wrote a report about it then what. Did he bring it up in the primaries? Did he do the press circuit discussing the impending implosion of the market and our economy? Why not mobilize his party to start doing something about it a year ago instead of waiting for all hell to break loose. The Democrats had control of Congress. Obama surely was receiving far more press coverage a year ago then Paul so he would have to opportunity to be heard. Paul has been speaking to this for 2 decades and no one listened. They called him crazy or crack-pot. largely ignored and marginalized but he knew what was coming down the road. You may disagree with his stances on issues but to call him crazy or a crack pot when he was the only candidate who was trying to bring this and many other issues to the table is ridiculous. To use ridiculous and falsely proven statements about him being a racist also shows a level of stupidity that I willing to assume you do not possess. You speak of the types of under handed smear campaigns the Republicans employ but would then use them against an opposing candidate. That is hypocrisy and would hope that people on this message board would be above or better than that.

One final note. It is quite useless to debate this since Ron Paul is no longer a presidential candidate and chances are, if McCain's recent actions back fire, Obama will end up being our next president.

Also to show that I do not think so lowly of Obama I do support his plan for a "green" economy. In fact I have mentioned on more than one occassion, on this board, that his plan would be a good way to revitalize the economy and give it a good foundation as well as prove energy independence.
