It's not as bad as driving drunk - sure, but don't even pretend that it's responsible or safe.Come on pilgrim you know he loves you..

I'm a believer that 7 out of 10 cars driving around late at night have impaired drivers. Some people can drink 10 beers and not be impaired to the point where it effects their driving. Some people can take 10 bong hits and be fine as well. It all depends on the individual. I know people who are the exact opposite of what I just mentioned above. Give them 1 beer which puts them under the .08 limit and they are a risk. I think that legal limits are good to work by, but the discretion should be put in the hands of the officer (as scary as that may be)NERDS!0

My wife did some work for the police, and a police officer told her that Marijuana is often thought of a non-serious drug - class 'C' I think? He said that they'd made a mistake, and it should be class 'A'. Apparently.'We're learning songs for baby Jesus' birthday. His mum and dad were Merry and Joseph. LeatherMandi wrote:the only reason mary jane is illegal, is because the government would have no way to put tax on it. Plain and simple.
1. They could tx it just as easily as they tax tabacco. The governemtn would grow it and no one would want this shit on the streets anymore so they'd be buying packs of G5.
2. The actual reason weed is illegal is because it was outlawed before anyone knew anything about it. It continues to be illegal because when you smoke weed, for whatever reason, certain perspectives become more clear. Like the fact that Democracy is a joke. Men cannot rule themselves. If you think government through, it will never work. Someone will always want some more cash. You cannot separate money from politics, throw religion in the mix and what do you have? If you put an entire country on weed (which is I suppose is our governmens fear) then this country will cease to fight and kill. Now we can't have that. We are expected to support a country who claims to have Jesus' support. Yeah, somehow when Jesus said to learn war no more and love your enemy, I dont think he meant to start an army in his name and kill people (for whatever reason). Simply put, a soldier cannot be a christain. Christain means to be Christ like. Wake up white people.
Okay, I'm sorry, I really don't knwo the reason is is still illegal. I just wanted to rant again about bullshit government.

I smoked for another year without my wife knowing, my mom knowing or even my friends. It was a test. See my family ws on my back telling me my problems were all coming from the pot. I couldn't see it that way (turns out I was right). So anyway, one day I quized them. Asked them how they thought I'd been doing and things, how our relationsship felt to them now-a-days. And everyone was like, "Yeah, it's great." Everyone is happy with how I've been and impressed. I went back to school, developed my business a little more, took on a second job and this summer I'll be going into Computer Networking. So after my family admitted all was swell, I dropped the bomb, By the way, I've been smoking for the last year I told them. I proved my case.
Now, I'm not typing this up to say, Hey, weed isn't harmful, go smoke it. I'm not saying that at all. I admit I am a rare case when I look at other's around me who smoke. I'm a big fan of the mind. And I am content. I can see a future clear enough to set meaningful goals. Life is shit, I still say, but I'm cool.
No, I'm just saying I'm not on crack, meth or whatnot, no Gateway ever presented itself. But, it is for some a gateway, these kids meet these dealers...Now I don't mean your friends uncle who sells a little weed. No, I'm talking about a real dealer, the Joker, the Pusherman. He be dropping rope these kids climb. Climb a rope of dope up a slope they can't cope,...okay I'm digressing, better stop me before I begin, but let me say, "If I behave can you arrange a spacious hole in the ground? Somewhere nice. Make it nice."
And yes, where the land meets the high tide.

GivenToCarve wrote:As a 20 yr old college student and friend of the reefer, I think I can give some truthful input.
IT IS A GATEWAY DRUG: Smoking pot doesn't necessarily mean that you will try other drugs. It will make a lot of people more willing to try. I speak for many when I say I would never have done some of the shit I've done before i smoked pot. Reason being, it's the most harmless of narcotics. People SUBCONSIOUSLY think "Hmm i was afraid to smoke pot once, and it's not that bad" and push the envelope further. Rarely will you meet anyone that's dropped a hit of acid or rolled on ecstasy that hasn't smoked pot quite a bit.
My own experiences: Smoking weed affects people differently. I've met people who have become doctors and graduated college with 4.0's that smoked nearly every day throughout their college experience... but unfortunately it makes me lazy and pretty dumb. I still smoke, but a lot less often. It used to be on average once a day and now it's more like once every two weeks and only on certain occasions. I'd still experiment with a little bit of other stuff, not to name anything. I do a lot of research on anything before I even consider doing it.
The commericals are KIND OF right, but much exaggerated. There have been a lot of times where I've done some dumb shit similar to what you see in the commercials. I think this country has a hell of a lot bigger problems than marijuana though. Anyway, it felt good to get that out.
I would just encourage us all to not speak in absolutes on this matter. We are all right and we are all wrong. It truely depends of the individual. We can't come in here making truths out of our own experiences. Pot is like a shap knife. It can get shit done if you hold onto the correct end.
Weed has gotten the "gateway" label for one reason: It is the most common. Nearly everyone who has done the hard shit has smoked pot. This is not proof that pot lead to the hard drugs. Weed is just so common. It is so common and always around where the hard stuff is, that people look at it as a gateway drug.
Let me make an "if" statement. IF there is a true gateway drug, it is nicotene. Pot may for some people materialize as a gateway. Fact is, every drug has its doors wide open from the get go. It is the illegalization of pot that, if anything, turns it into a gateway. If pot were legal, what would happen? Kids that wanna smoke would get some as easily as they get cigarettes. But the Circle K, BP, Amoco that you would buy your weed at, doesn't have any other drugs to offer. No dealer to say, "If you like that weed I sold you, try this shit!" You take hard drugs almost completely out of the equation.
Now we get back to why it is illegal. The government needs drug dealers. The government needs people strung out on herion and crack. This is a capitolist country. You cannot get mega rich (in this system) without 50 other people living in poverty. Keep weed illegal, get a percentage of the kids on hard shit so they can't get your slice of the pie. WHen you fuck up too many lives, you can tighten up on the enforcement of law for a little while to maintain the balance of rich and poor.-Jeremy0 -

yosi wrote:I know the gateway argument seems silly, but I'm going to speak from my own personal experience only. I personally never thought I'd do anything harder than pot, but after smoking a LOT of pot (I mean every day for much of highschool), I felt much more inclined to try harder drugs (like mushrooms). And I was someone who at this point in my life had never gotten drunk or smoked cigarettes. I know that it is not necessarily the same for all people, and its probably not as true as many people who have a problem with weed make out to be, but I kind of see weed as a getway drug. I don't necessarily think weed is bad if used in moderation, and I think many people who do harders drugs would have done them anyway, and not because of weed. But I do believe that weed is a step on the rung to trying other drugs.
becos kids are told weed is evil and will kill you. then you tried it and thought "this isn't so bad, it's kinda fun. maybe the others arent as bad as id thought?" plus you end up hanging around with people who do other drugs and see that most of the time, they're ok. weed is only a gateway drug becos it's classified as a hard drug by the gov. legalize it and make a valid distinction between it and other hard drugs like heroin, and your gateway issue disappears.0 -

I think it's funny how so much emphasis is put against marijuana when there are so many things that are far worse for the health of our youth..........Where are the commercials saying "if you keep eating french fries, you're gonna DIE" lol..........or "see that can of ether and all of those match heads that have been clipped off...........that means your parents are making meth and your house is going to blow up"..........Seriously...is marijuana really all that major of a problem?0
