So let me get this straight, and someone can correct me if I am wrong, but after years of tax cuts and massive budget defecits the US economy is tanking (after years of economic growth). So in response to the tanking economy they decide to cut taxes even more?0

the us economy isnt tanking because of tax cuts. (as you are suggesting).
its because bush and the banks decided to loan billions of dollars to people who couldnt pay it back.0 -

Yes.....some say it will stimulate the economy, however, its obviously an election year ploy to make people feel good about the govt.0 -

But if all the other taxs cuts he has made have not stimulated the economy why would anyone think this one will?0 -
I wonder if we'll have to claim it on our taxes as income?"Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former. "

Let me understand this. $145 Million, roughly half of A-Rod's contract is going to pull the entire country out of a recession that's been 8 years in the making? How can anyone argue with this brilliant plan?06/22/95, 11/04/95, 11/15/97, 07/16/98, 10/30/99, 10/30/00, 10/31/00, 10/20/01, 10/21/01, 12/08/02, 06/01/03, 06/06/03, 10/25/03, 10/26/03, 09/28/04, 03/18/05, 09/01/05, 07/15/06, 07/16/06, 07/18/06, 07/22/06, 07/23/06, 10/21/06, 10/22/06, 08/28/09, 09/21/09, 09/22/09, 05/20/10, 05/21/10, 10/24/10, 11/26/13, 12/06/13, 06/28/14, 10/26/14, 07/10/18, 08/10/18, 10/02/21,0

I am curious about this as well. Does anyone know where the money is coming from?given2fly78 wrote:I wonder if we'll have to claim it on our taxes as income?
I think we had to with the last one in 2001(I think it was.)0 -

How would people know that? Many people here don't seem to acknowledge where it came from in the first place.0 -

There are a lot of unrealistic people in the lower 48!0 -
Here's a brilliant idea.. how about instead of protesting by ripping up your own earned money, you actually put the money to a good cause. You rip up your check and the government will just have extra money for war. People here should be demading just about all their taxes back by this point, since the government seems to spend our money for its own interests.0

Its not really our earned money....its like the govt is taking a huge cash advance (getting into more debt) for a fun night of partying. Eventually, we will all sober up and have a mother of a hangover!0 -

I knew something was wrong with those numbers. I just got home and seen the proposal. It's still not the answer but it's a hell of an improvement over 50 cents a person. Then again when the National Debt doubles in the next 5 years and were all working for minimun wage I'll probably be wishing it was 50 cents.06/22/95, 11/04/95, 11/15/97, 07/16/98, 10/30/99, 10/30/00, 10/31/00, 10/20/01, 10/21/01, 12/08/02, 06/01/03, 06/06/03, 10/25/03, 10/26/03, 09/28/04, 03/18/05, 09/01/05, 07/15/06, 07/16/06, 07/18/06, 07/22/06, 07/23/06, 10/21/06, 10/22/06, 08/28/09, 09/21/09, 09/22/09, 05/20/10, 05/21/10, 10/24/10, 11/26/13, 12/06/13, 06/28/14, 10/26/14, 07/10/18, 08/10/18, 10/02/21,0 -
how much of the GDP do you think the government uses for the war? Well if we spent $100 Billion on the War we only spend a little less 1% of the US $13trillion dollar GDP so this money no matter what you say was probably not going to the war.96 Randall's Island II

its close to 10% of gdp. which is ridiculous. based on that fact alone it needs to stop.0
