yes....but then you go to an eye for an eye.
Which was proceeded by "turn the other cheek," btw.

EDIT: No it wasn't a Hammurabi Code edict, but it was in the Old Testament.
achoooo! ( man i have the worst cold).
Ugh, that sucks. Hot tea with a splash or two of lemon, and chicken noodle soup.

Thats what i thought- i was positive that i read it in there (out of free choice btw :) when i was younger). Someone just said that I might be wrong and i should check, but thanks for the verification. Also, its nice to hear from someone who already knows firsthand + experience.

I found a new church here....they are helping soo much with the Darfur crisis. Sometimes its hard for me to read the bible. Because its a holy text, i dont want to be disrespectful and just "throw" myself in there. Or I feel weird if i am reading it strictly for educational purposes. I like getting quotes from my friends....it has a lot of beauty in it. I can also understand how people want to give it more substance, with "life is a fight." It gets confusing sometimes...but I guess thats every believer's journey....

thanks for the advice and care! :)
its just blurriness. I should go out and get those items asap. :D Thanks again.
sorry....didnt mean to make anyone worried. :o

maybe i had to just back-up my usual ramblingness.

No problem. Those tend to work best for me, rather than nasty-tasting drugs or having to go to the doctor.

Can you find one single thing that Jesus ever said that would lead you to believe that he would support a war?

Can you find anything he ever said that would lead you toward the conclusion that he would never support a war?

I think you'll find your answer.

Now this is from Revelation and it doesn't really apply to the Jesus that walked the earth prior to resurrection...but nonetheless interesting. This is post rapture, ie all that is left is those that absolutely defy God.

    Christ on a White Horse

11 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. 12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had[e] a name written that no one knew except Himself. 13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean,[f] followed Him on white horses. 15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharp[g] sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written:

KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

The Beast and His Armies Defeated

17 Then I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the midst of heaven, “Come and gather together for the supper of the great God,[h] 18 that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, both small and great.”
19 And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army. 20 Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone. 21 And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse. And all the birds were filled with their flesh.

    And more...

    Confess Christ Before Men

32 “Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. 33 But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.
    Christ Brings Division

34 “Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword. 35 For I have come to ‘set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law’; 36 and ‘a man’s enemies will be those of his own household.’[e] 37 He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. 38 And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. 39 He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.

    but then...

50 But Jesus said to him, “Friend, why have you come?”
Then they came and laid hands on Jesus and took Him. 51 And suddenly, one of those who were with Jesus stretched out his hand and drew his sword, struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.
52 But Jesus said to him, “Put your sword in its place, for all who take the sword will perish[f] by the sword. 53 Or do you think that I cannot now pray to My Father, and He will provide Me with more than twelve legions of angels? 54 How then could the Scriptures be fulfilled, that it must happen thus?”

The dollar bill says "In God We Trust"
One of our national songs is "God Bless America"
The Pledge of Allegence says "One nation, under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all."

there's this thing you should look into called history. You should do it every time you post when you want to look like you know what you're talking about.

the first item and the third item were introduced in 1957 by Dwight eisenhower (sp?) during the communist scare. Before 1957 neither the money nor the pledge mentioned the almighty. It's a fact.

the second was written by Francis Scott Key during the war of 1812. He was kind of a Toby Keith of his day. He was not a politician much less a founding father.

so the anwer to your original question is this

No, because they didn't know about it. They'd been dead for at least a century.

nope, it's in the Bill of Rights. look it up on Google. I'll even tell you where to find it. It's the first thirteen words. It's for all of our protection, it's a damn good idea and no Bustian is gonna tell me otherwise

he doesn't have to, he has Faux "news" run interference for him. their "The (Liberals) war on Christmas" is an excellent example. Also, he has not come to the defense of non Christian beliefs when the ten commandments are being erected outside courthouses. I have a feeling he'd have an opinion if a Koran or a Torah were put up next to it.

ROFLMAO...............ok, if you say so. Nevermind the REST of the First Amendment (i.e. the Free Exercise Clause), right?

By the way, this "separation between church and state," try Jefferson's writings instead.

Well, gee, heaven forbid a sitting President let his morals guide his agenda. Let's have a totally amoral administration, right?

As witnessed above, the blatherings of someone buried so deeply beneath secular humanist blinders really don't leave any room for challenge. Not because your views are superior or necessarily "right," but because when one is that entrenched, never the twain shall meet.

God bless you. Please don't sue me for saying that.

You have to admire Bush, like on the same level as Hitler. Both managed to get their people into an unjust war with propaganda and lies.

Reasons To Still Support President Bush:
    25. You enjoy having a larger government that is more intrusive to your personal life and spends more of your tax dollars than you've actually got.

It's mind boggling, ain't it? My mind is boggled.
That's why I cannot concieve of any 'Conservative' agreeing with, let alone supporting this administration. Maybe this is the Neo-Conservativism they are talking about.. you know, like the 'New Math' that they tried out a few years back.
Spend more and tax less... I'm guessing ol' Georgie wasn't that good in math class.

I don't understand how that helps your arguement, I may even be confused now as to what your arguement is. when I get confused I go to THE DOCUMENT that thells us what our RIGHTS are. THE BILL OF RIGHTS.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

no, but one that is fair to others outside the Christian right would do nicely (i.e. all Americans).

I'm going to have to agree with the other poster (sorry, didn't catch the name) on this issue. This sentence means, in my opinion, that the government cannot make a law forcing everyone to follow a particular religion, i.e. the Church of England. That is why we left England in the first place right?
