Bush has admitted that he believes in the literal interpretation of the book of revelations and that he also believes in the holy rapture.

Not all that suprising, he is a Christian. Most of us do believe in revelations. His belief in Revelations and the claim that he is destroying the world through it seem more then a little off. Does that mean that every Christian is destroying the world because they believe in Revelations?

No. Because there are Christians and there are nutty fundamentalists like Bush who has the brain of a child, and who believes that the world can be expalined with terms such as good vs evil, the axis of evil, us vs the enemy e.t.c, e.t.c. Simply put, Bush is a giddy, weak-minded fruitcake. Why are you defending him?
  • hes a simple yes/ no type of leader. this gives me security.

What makes Bush a "nutty fundamentalist", just because he is in the public spotlight 24/7, and he isn't afraid to say he is a Christian, and that he views prayer as a powerful tool. It sounds to me that you are just taking jabs at Christians. Many Christians do believe there is a battle between good and evil, doesn't make us fruitcakes or nutty fundamentalists. I happen to think Bush isn't a "weak minded, giddy, fruitcake". Do I have issues with him in some areas, absolutely. Is he still my President, yes.

Get it straight, please. It's the Book of Revelation. Singular. No plural. "Revelations" was the short-lived tv series that aired a year or so ago. C'mon, if you're going to bash Christianity (or a President who is very public about his faith), then at least bash right.

theres a big difference between saying that youre a Christian and truly acting like one.

That is a great point. My guess is you're, correct me if I'm wrong, refering to Bush being a Christian, yet leading a war that is been very destructive, in almost every sense. I struggle with that notion myself. As a Christian who supports the war, is that really what a Christian would do? It's tough. I really do wonder what would Jesus do, when it comes to this war.

Can you find one single thing that Jesus ever said that would lead you to believe that he would support a war?

Can you find anything he ever said that would lead you toward the conclusion that he would never support a war?

I think you'll find your answer.

Jesus would have died to save the Iraqi people. Something George Dubya would never do. ;)

    No.

My point is, that its soo easy to SAY that youre a Christian....or a Muslim.
Its tht level of confidence tht people have in him for JUST stating that, is mind-boggling. I think its lazy.....

The latter of what you said is an important thing to address.
Jesus is the peaceful one....its the disciples that have to fight for the bigger cause? ( I am not saying that to be snarky...truly questioning).

Maybe hes saving us against a bigger destruction. Thats fine (logic)......but how can you let the loose ends, untied hypocrisy in the current administration slide by?

I have friends who are very dear to me, that are Christian. It would be nice to see Bush act like them once in a while. I dont know if its because he is a "leader" and cant show any weakness.....but surely he has time show a "bit" kindness or true Christ-like following through his actions. This would not be limted to only talking about the war-on-Iraq.....

I dunno. Maybe that is the attraction. People are attracted to him because he isnt "lovey-dovey." Maybe this portrays more loyalty to his following.

At any rate, i dont think sincerely "questioning" things is a disgrace to your belief, family, or nation.

That is so true. I really believe he would. And I'm not even a Christian.

    I'm also guessing...
If Jesus came back today... He would be:
Placed on the Airlines No-Fly List... OR
Be sitting in a cell in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

no doubt about it. if jesus were here today he would be treated exactly how he was treated back then. and by the same group of people. trade a crown of thorns for electrodes on his balls, and torture him to death. a middle eastern man taking power away from the church and the government....please!

Hmm, given the choice, I think I'd actually take electrodes on my balls. Sounds less painful.

Who would want him dead more, the clerics and mullahs or western governments?
