That is a great point. My guess is you're, correct me if I'm wrong, refering to Bush being a Christian, yet leading a war that is been very destructive, in almost every sense. I struggle with that notion myself. As a Christian who supports the war, is that really what a Christian would do? It's tough. I really do wonder what would Jesus do, when it comes to this war.

    Here's my guess...

    No.

My point is, that its soo easy to SAY that youre a Christian....or a Muslim.
Its tht level of confidence tht people have in him for JUST stating that, is mind-boggling. I think its lazy.....

The latter of what you said is an important thing to address.
Jesus is the peaceful one....its the disciples that have to fight for the bigger cause? ( I am not saying that to be snarky...truly questioning).

Maybe hes saving us against a bigger destruction. Thats fine (logic)......but how can you let the loose ends, untied hypocrisy in the current administration slide by?

I have friends who are very dear to me, that are Christian. It would be nice to see Bush act like them once in a while. I dont know if its because he is a "leader" and cant show any weakness.....but surely he has time show a "bit" kindness or true Christ-like following through his actions. This would not be limted to only talking about the war-on-Iraq.....

I dunno. Maybe that is the attraction. People are attracted to him because he isnt "lovey-dovey." Maybe this portrays more loyalty to his following.

At any rate, i dont think sincerely "questioning" things is a disgrace to your belief, family, or nation.

That is so true. I really believe he would. And I'm not even a Christian.

If Jesus came back today... He would be:

Be sitting in a cell in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

no doubt about it. if jesus were here today he would be treated exactly how he was treated back then. and by the same group of people. trade a crown of thorns for electrodes on his balls, and torture him to death. a middle eastern man taking power away from the church and the government....please!

Hmm, given the choice, I think I'd actually take electrodes on my balls. Sounds less painful.

Which is why Jesus is Jesus, son of God, and President Bush is human. I venture to guess that no other politician, regardless of party affiliation, would be the same. ;)

Not like those other silly followers, who actually TRY to follow Christ. • Not all that suprising, he is a Christian. Most of us do believe in revelations.

Good for you. that's your right last time I checked. It's even your right to express it publicly (however annoying it may be to listen to).

Bush should be a President to all. not just Christians.

Why does he seem to wish to reverse the separation of church and state that the founding fathers (most of them extremely religious men) struggled and sacrificed to install?

I Believe to be a true Christian you actually have to practice the wisdom and benevolence of Jesus as opposed to paying it lip service.

We don't see that at all.. What we see are people just like you and me.. who are poor and unable to take control of their own country - first because of an oppressive dictator, and now because of an oppressive conqueror.

there is no justification for Saddam - any more than there is for the United States...

These people have had a tough time for a long time - too bad the United States is not sincere in its claim to want to help them... especially after so brutally executing them in large numbers because of their ignorant aspiring dictator...

Uhm, ok. I just pointed out the differentiation not to make excuses for President Bush, but to point out the fallacy behind the comparision. Would you compare a Beemer to a Saturn?

Got it... 13November1861, because of religious sentiment during the Civil War.
    (ref. http://www.treas.gov/education/fact-sheets/currency/in-god-we-trust.html )

The National Anthem is 'The Star-Spangled Banner'... don't you ever got to a ball game?
And the 'Under God' was added to the Pledge of Allegience in the 1950s, at the urging of the Knghts of Columbus to combat the Communist take-over.

First of all, this wall of separation? Not a Constitutional provision.

Secondly, what laws or bills has he introduced that lead you to think in this direction (the President's inability under the Constitution to make laws notwithstanding)?

He said "song," not "anthem." And last time I went to an MLB game, they were STILL singing "God Bless America," too.

"God Bless America" at the 7th Inning Stretch... post September 11, 2001... right? God gets second billing to 'Peanuts and Cracker Jacks'... there's a religious sentiment for you.
Also.. the original National anthem was 'Columbia, Gem Of The Ocean', prior to 1930something.

Not really. I just think that some Christian's interpretation of 'Turn the other cheek' is 'Mount up the armoured calvary and let's go kill someone'. Everyone interprets Jesus differently.
