Evangelists are such hypocrites. I was watching Pat Robertson talk about why it's important to refrain from telling lies. He goes, "If you are known as someone who tells lies, then no one will believe you. You will not be a person of your word."

LOL, so the reason why it's unethical to tell lies is because we don't want to be known as liars. So, under that rationale, it's OK to tell lies as long as people believe you. What a sham.

you seriously got that from the statement. It seems like you're just looking to twist words. Saying "If you are known as someone who tells lies, then no one will believe you" is no where close to saying it's ok to tell lies as long as people believe you, unless as I said before you're looking to twist words.

See, this is what turns me off about organized religion. Let me be "up here in my tree" and I can find God, but in a church full of hypocrites, adulterers, etc. I just find anger. That is not what religion should be!
