Aren't they the exception rather than the rule? And, how do they compare to Obama. Putting them next to each other, would you consider Obama to be a socialist?

You said that there are no socialists in American politics, I was only correcting you.

I consider Obama to be a self-absorbed politician who is interested in obtaining power. Like Clinton, I don't believe he has any core principals, he focuses on charisma instead of articulating ideas.

Anyways, I want to get back to this idiotic (and yes, i really do mean idiotic) idea that the South, Republicans, and Americans in general are racists and that's why dopes like Harold Ford lose elections. In the south: Clarance Thomas runs against John Kerry....Who wins?

  • I would vote based on race. Im not some hard core racist or anything close to it but when it comes to runnning this country I think it should be a white person. Most blacks would vote for a black person. It works both ways.
    I'll be back
  • Black political figures are typically Democratic. Without the black vote, no Democratic president would have been elected (as blacks typically vote Democrat) in the past 50 years or so. That being said, there's a good chance that a black candidate would win by votes among the blacks, and many of the white liberals.

Every nation will always have racisms, it's retarded to deny that. So why act like only America is racist?
  • I think right now is perfect time for a black person, or a female to run b/c we are soooooo pissed off at our government. We are prepared, at least I believe we are, to do what it takes to get the hell out of this war. So, you show me a candidate that will do it, and I can show you the next president, dispite, race, color, gender, ethnicity, ect.

Translation: "I'm not some hard core racist, I just act like one" Damn, even Robert Byrd would find your post disturbing. Actually, he wouldn't...but Trent Lott would :)

Hey, is it true that you guys burn couches after WVU wins? (not sure if you're in or near Morgantown)

I have a question though with regard to WV politics. I was doing some campaign finance research, and saw that some guy ran for congress in WV and spent about $9 million of his own money two years in a row and lost both times. What's that guy all about?

I applaud your honesty and am completely disgusted by it at the same time.

Yea, WVU gets pretty crazy. I graduated from Marshall University (We Are Marshall- the new movie) anyway, my brother goes to a lot of WVU games and there is a lot of couch burning. I never thought that was even odd, until I have talked to other people, and they kind of have the same reaction you do. Like WTF are you crazy hillbillies doing? Anyway, Morgantown just passed a law that you are not allowed to have ANY furnature outside your home. Yep, b/c people will burn it!

And the politician you are speaking of, I am not sure his name, but if you know his name....I could help out maybe.

So do you guys like the king of the pork and his politics, or do you just vote for him because he's the best looter in congress and can bring home the bacon?

He is West Virginia. I mean a road, building or bridge in EVERY town is named after this man. To us, I think he represents a chance to not be forgetable. He is so famous, I mean you guys on here know the man. I could not name Senators from your states necessarily. And believe it or not, I have met MANY people who don't even know that we are our own state, not the west of Virginia. Anyway, so with Byrd in office, people know us. They know him, so we are noticed. I think we feel overlooked, and he is our confidence around that.

I am disgusted by the thought process that kind of post shows, but I think I get the point that was being made.

Thats fine if your disgusted. I live in the most dangerous city in the U.S. Its ran by a black guy, he has proved himself to be very racist and cares only about blacks. Blacks care only about blacks, thats why they would never get my vote. I hang out with a couple black guys that I work with a 3 times a month but I wouldnt vote for them.
    I'll be back

Why bring him back from the grave? Robert Byrd and Charlie Melancon are still elected officials.

Not all black people are the same and neither are all white people.
