    just a question

    hypothetically speaking- of course

are you offering your led zeppelin poster for one of these ?

    :)

well I do really want the DC but right now the frenzy around the zep print is too much to deal with......

hypothetically I would be crazy to do one for one at this point

Historically Shep prints go for more money about 6 months after their release than they do when the market is flooded. For example "a guy I know" sold a Mujer Fatal for $110 about 6 months ago. Now they are going anywhere from $300-$400. It's tough to get top dollar for anything when there are 10-12 of them for sale at the same time.

Crazy? Understatement of the year. $900 for that print is just plain stupid.

Openly, I've never been into much of the OG stuff ... but if for some reason this came into my possession right now, I'd flip that fekker quicker the a fry cook at a burger joint ... and if I loved that print, I'd rebuy it a few months from now at a few hundy less. Is there really anything SO special about that print? Is the paint laced with crack?

    we've all heard it before about Fairey ... but man ... I ... just ... don't ... get it.

I agree that the print is overrated but i would be lying if I said that I was sad it was selling for 900 since I got one.....

but I also put this print in the same category as the PJ firehouse virgin promo.... there are only 100 to the public and the rest will overtime get lost because none collectors (record vip's and such) will not know what they have in their hands...... it just went from 0 to 900 overnight firehouse took ten years :)

undestood ... this one just has the feel of an initial rush though ... people need it now ... to many old rich folks who don't even collect posters remembering Jimmy Paige and Robert Plant in their prime with lots of disposable income that want this n-o-w ... big hub-bub with the release of the album ... etc ...

But in a few months, those big fish will be gone and this poster will be forgotten and it'll only be us poster nerds looking for this ...

    I could be wrong ... I honestly don't care. :)

hey, if you got it for $30 or $50 or whatever it was ... congrats ... that's awesome.

Just don't think the kids college eduaction is going to be paid by selling this in 10 - 15 years ...

but, again, I am stoopid ... so, don't pay no mind to me.

true and those prices tripled after his London show, then mag cover and now he is about to have a LA show so price might jump again.....

a lot of people paying big bucks are Londoners and such cuz the USD sucks monkey balls right now :)

My 2-month-old will not go to college. I've already decided that. He'll go to a trade school and become master plumber or something that will make my attorney salary look laughable with maybe 1/5th the debt.

Regarding the Zep print, it is like the perfect storm for getting top dollar right now: the London show, the British rock band, the crappy dollar, etc. But still, there are 12 on ebay right now. The market is flooded. And I would bet some of the ones on there are the record exec's copies. If they're not, as I pointed out on EB, then 25% of the ones sold by OG are either for sale right now or have been sold on ebay.

I lucked into this at the TRPS show here in SF a month or so ago ... didn't even think he'd have these but he had a few of his A/Ps for sale ... I could NOT pass it up ... it is stunning in person.

    If you're near portland ... he'll be here http://thegoodfoot.com/amm4/ tomorrow night ...

Wish I could make it ... it's a HELL of a lineup (if anyone is going PM me ... I have some easy non EMEK stuff I wouldn't mind someone picking up ... no need ot wiat in line for 3 hours for me, should be grab and go)

Likewise. If someone is going and would be kind enough to pick up some McCarthy prints for me, that would be awesome.

I have a Hawaii Klausen honolulu ... and I'm willing to trade it ... but, it'll take something other than a DC to get it ...

My Klausen honolulu is mint and A/P ... I'm thinking of trading it as I may not frame it, and this *should* be framed ...

    Here's my current wanted ...

    http://www.expressobeans.com/members/wanted.php?id=9972&ipp=15&page=1

kind of odd, the last 1st edition of the bk honolulu sold for over $380 ... yet, the A/Ps are under that .... something's got to give ... I'd much rather have one signed by BK ... got a feeling those will go up as well as we haven't seen a sale of that in a while.

Before I get a PM, I will *not* sell it ... I'd trade it only.

Have a few other "willing to trades" that people may be intersted in (Ames Honolulu and Klausen Gorge anyone?) ... as far as PJ is concerned, the high prioities (that I am looking for) are older Boston/Mansfield prints 2000 & 1998.

And if ANYONE has a Slater Arcade Fire they are willing to trade, please let me know.

Eclectic, well ... I guess you don't see a lot of Tool fans blending with Decemeberists fans, do you? ;)

PJ gets top nod in my collection ... 2nd would be the decemberists, as, (1) I like them, and (2) for he past 2-3 years, they have had the best prints made for them ...

I got about 6 or 7 lithos from The Fillmore here in SF ... they hand our free lithos for sold out shows, I like adding them to ebeans, makes me feel I'm contributing in some small way ... I've gone back and got some screen prints of shows that I was at, even if I thought the art was a little suspect ... the Bloc Party/Broken Social Scene Berkeley print form Li'l Tuffy for example ... not a great print, but, it's the night I met my lady ... so, I pick that up for $20 (in the after market mind you), and my poster collection is "cool" to her, and I'm "sweet" ... (k'ya, right)

eh, we've all spent lots on certain posters (maybe not kj, she has them all) ...

again, worth is a relative term ... if you like it, then it was worth it.

I can't wait for the DD's or McCarthy's they are gonna be sweet. By the way, I'm not only jealous of your poster collection, but also of your husband's comic collection. That's two different collections where you have me seriously beat. :D

was this print known to be a 'copy' of a much older print? didn't this come with my ames sub a while back?

look about 3/4 of the way down the page and you'll see a River of no Return 1967 poster that looks familiar.
