what was bullshit was the reason she joined the military according to her mother....

"because she wasnt ready for college and she wanted to travel"

that bullshit decision to join the military because she wanted to travel was no one elses choice but her own....
Then perhaps the military shouldn't advertise that way.

Life is a journey, one where we all cruise toward a destination. That destination is death.

Now let's all pause for a second and contemplate the many interpretations of the slogan.....

depends on if the parent is going to blame the fire department for sending her son in to the burning buildings.....

it wasnt the fire departments fault that the firefighter CHOSE to run in to the burning buildings.....

just like it wasnt george bushs fault that the young lady CHOSE to join the military....

but i think her mother has a problem facing the facts.....

If, for example, the fire department KNEW that this particular burning building was too dangerous to go into and the fire department FORCED the fireman to go in anyway... then yeah... that mother could blame the fire department for her son's death. In that way, it is George's fault that this woman's daughter died. He knows we shouldn't be there. He knows people are dying for what amounts to NO GOOD REASON, yet these people (who did join the military of their own free will and in full knowing that it was a dangerous job) are FORCED to go anyway. Yeah, I blame him. No, nobody forced the girl to join the military, but even if she didn't want to fight this war because its unjust she would have been forced to anyway.

I blame the president for using our military in such a disgusting manner. We need them and they are heroes! To put them in harms way for NOTHING! Yeah, he has to take some responsibility for that.

    To the merry-go-round and round
Count times that he laid awake at night thinkin'
    Am I goin' down now
    Am I goin' down

It's not easy puttin' on a smile
    You're alone, lost and found
She waits at home just to love him through the night thinkin'
He's been gone so long now
    Is he comin' home?

I lived in new york when this happened. my boy friend was in the 3rd building that the motor from the plane hit.what scared me the most was sitting on my brake at work outside trying to compose myself and seeing the dooms day plane fly over . bush is a dumb prick!

    epic. truly epic.
  • Bush is the a murder. He may not have pulled the trigger but there is no difference. Im sure im gonna get bashed for this but I dont care, its true. People gloryfy this war and say if you dont support the war or the president then you dont support our troops and your not an american and thats just fucked up.
    I'll be back
  • ya know, i fully understand the basic premise of this mother's thoughts..i truly do, and my heart goes out to her. bush absolutely sickens me and this war........:(. however, just or unjust, this young woman DID sign up for it....and she should've known what she was getting into, and the possible tragic consequences such a choice may have. while yes, i was always and still am 100% against this war...and my heart hurts for each soldier and civilian, in all countries, affected by it....the fact that bush is planning a wedding while a war is going on is really....well...just life? while i do not believe he/his family should be making such a public spectacle of it, and i don't believe it should be at the white house either...unnecessary expense, etc......the fact that his daughter fell in love and is marrying is just how it all goes.
    Stay with me...

The simple answer is...your daughter enlisted in the military. Soldiers die. That is the nature of their choice.

The complex answer is...this particular war was are unnecessary.
Makes much more sense, to live in the present tense.

This visit went well - very well. Saddam's intelligence service in essence cut a check directly to Zawahiri, for $300,000. American officials learned of this payout by "a senior member" of Iraqi intelligence. An administration official later told Stephen Hayes that the payout is so credible as to be undisputed: "It's a lock," the official said. U.S. News and World Report broke the story, and to date no one has ever come forward to question the reality of this payment. But what did the good terrorist doctor do with Saddam's cash?

I want to know why, if George is so busy planning a wedding, that he has time to swan in to Australia and turn the place into Guatanamo Bay for his visit? I don't want him here, as far as I'm concerned he's committed enough crimes against humanity for his visa to be disallowed, so he should just bugger off back to Yankieland and plan his daughter's wedding.
    NOPE!!!

Well I think the Aussie government has managed to cage him. :D

I know they were caging to keep the Australian people out, and any evil protesters  from their right to Freedom of Speech, you know because we're such a violent bunch! But yeah, seems all this caging and fence erecting has only served to lock him in!
Now if we could just find a way to let the crock loose in there! :D

It's a bloody shame Steve's not still with us! I'm sure he'd have been quite the asset! Of course he probably wouldn't want the croc ruining his diet by having to chow down on such vile junk! ;)
