Lawn signs ...

blacknapkins wrote:My first reaction was to take a picture of it, and then I e-mailed it to a bunch of my friends ... some whom are local Republicans. I live outside of Philadelphia, in an incestuously Republican Catholic neighborhood. I was born here, what can I say except that somehow that didn't rub off on me. I've also managed to raise my kids to be open-minded and thoughtful.
The friend who came in to point the sign out to me is a registered Republican, who is decidedly liberal and always votes Democrat. Why the party registration? If you want to get a job here (in the school district, township, etc.,) you have to prove a Republican party affiliation. The place runs like shit, by the way, but the "powers that be" are in blissful denial of it ... for the the past glorious fifty years.
I dread going to the polls, but I vote in every election, no matter how small or seemingly inconsequential. My polling place is in the home of a relative of the county's Republican party boss ... and they paint an elephant on the driveway leading up to the garage where the machines are housed. If the Democratic party (or any other party, for that matter) sends volunteers to this particular polling place, they're relegated to the sidewalk. I always give them credit and thanks for showing up. The atmosphere is more than a little intimidating.
Wow that's some scary and intimidating stuff right there that you have disguise what party you're registered to. That's why I kind of wished I lived in the opposing party's county and see if anyone would try and intimidate me.

Put up some more signs, set up a camera and see if you can't get some pictures of the destruction, then email them to a national paper or broadcasting company. They'll have a field day.
should be a perfect setup for a wildlife rig. If you live in MO you should have them in any sporting goods store. THey shoot automatically on motion. My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.0 -

And you're not leaving here without me, I don't wanna be without

I had the same thing happen at my house TWICE!!! I just keep putting them up. Living in Texas is hard for an Obama supporter. But I will continue to voice my preference!!!!"Love ain't love until you give it up." - Amongst The Waves0

I just heard this story - did I hear it on the Message Pit?
A guy had an Obama sign on a tree in his yard and it was pulled down. He put up a sign that said, "I just donated $100 to the Obama campaign. And I'll continue to do that every time you take down my Obama sign."0 -

I worked for Obama in New York on the runup to Super Tuesday, and you know what candidate surprisingly had the worst/most asshole supporters? I know he's got fans here, but Ron Paul by a landslide. Of course I don't hold the behavior of his supporters there to Paul or his supporters here, but my God they were horrible. We'd put down an Obama sign and an hour later we'd go by and the sign would be mutilated, a Ron Paul sign in its' place. This happened with every different candidate; we also had Paul supporters sabotaging campaign offices of other candidates, Democrat and Republican alike (including the Obama office I was in charge of). I guess all's fair in politics, but they turned me off of Paul for quite a while.
Yeah... Ron Paul people are pretty rude. I was at a Bill Maher taping last year and they were a bunch of tools.... The kept yelling and Bill had to yell at them a couple of times. You couldn't speak to them in a rational manner about politics. It was like they were all brainwashed and drank the koolaide...2000-10-28 San Bernardino

Ron Paul supporters tend to not pretend everything is rosy for the most part. Reason being the Federal reserve is a fraud, and it bubbles up from there.

I'm sorry, but thats a funny shit right there, I know you don't share my amusement. Maybe it was McCain and Palin going around destroying your communist utopian sign.BRING BACK THE WHALE0 -

so you would, of course, find it funny if it were a mccain sign destroyed like that, right? :rolleyes:0 -

Honestly I would, I just think its funny that someone would go to that level to make a point, that they snuck out in the middle of the night, cut up one sign and put up another. Childish, but still funny.
Now I wouldn't put it pass some of you to do that to a McCain sign, seeing how some of you post.BRING BACK THE WHALE0 -

It's a childish prank as you put it and what an assumption to make about posters here. However, I'd like to see someone cross my lawn and mess with a sign IF I put one up.
