if saudia arabia, iran, iraq, etc had military bases across our country, in the middle of our national parks, and tried to force their ways on us, and bought off our leaders in order to do so, we might not like them so much either. when one of them stands up to us, its on. they are the bad guy.

Iran is not part of the United States. who the fuck are we to tell soverign nations what they can and cannot do. its as simple as that.

Also, I dont believe my leaders anymore. Thats the truth. I dont know what this guy is up to. We have no fucking idea. Just like Hussein has WMD, he is enriching uranium for nukes? I say talk to him. Call me crazy. The cycle of bullshit nonsense hatred and tension with this country and the others we have been told to hate has to stop somewhere, sometime.
All that's sacred, comes from youth....dedications, naive and true.
  • He might need the money for parts for his American made F-4 and F-14 fighter aircraft that can't fly.

Globalism is the real enemy. The president of Iran is powerless therefor he is not my enemy. Im guessing you believed Sadam Hussien was a threat and had WMD's?

Dislike of George Bush is understandable. I can't stand the guy either. But that doesn't mean some of you libs should automatically throw your support behind Ahmadinejad. Anyone who values individual freedom, and finds very religious people in positions of power dangerous (as you do Palin) should also find plenty to dislike about Ahmadinejad. It is actually possible to dislike both Bush and Ahmadinejad. I know I do.
Very very good point... neither of them are Gandhi!

  • Wow, you totally avoid the issues don't you?

It's not just about his views on gays, it about the pass someone gave him because his view is due to his religious beliefs. So, it would go for all issues, not just gays.

    Nevermind, not worth it.
unfortunately his view reflects the view of the people he's representing also. Homosexuality is not acceptable in a lot of middle eastern countries... and not just by the government. Alot of his beliefs that we'd laugh at are common beliefs and opinions there.

You have to be open enough to understand that even your own president can be your enemy. When a president values $$ over the lives of his own soldiers and innocent civilians, then he is an enemy.

He uses religion as a tool, dont brand a religion based on a country's leadership. It would be like judging Christianity based on Bush and the evangelicals.

oh what might have been ... anyways - the people of iran are handcuffed ... it's unfortunate the religious zealots there have taken over gov't and have imposed restrictive democratic laws ... having said that - ahmandinejad is no threat to world peace and people who want to buy the sound bite propanganda pr campaign are not really interested in solving any problems ...

Well first this guy hates Jews.

When did he ever say he hates Jews?

Now let's get one thing straight. I'm not a Ahmadinejad-lover or admirer.

I think he's every bit a religious lunatic. A looney.

Personally I think he's one hell of an actor and really plays this character very well.

On the other hand he has spoken many truths and many facts in the things that he has said. Much more factual than George Bush, Chenney or McCain or Obama have ever spoken.

But his country is ruled my Islamic law and they are quite hateful to homosexuals. There's a reason there aren't many homosexuals there. because they either keep it underground (or in the closet), get the hell out of the country or they are murdered.

They have some sick, religion-based lunacy, there.

He never said he hates the Jews. He dislikes the Zionists. Big difference.

Zionists are no different than Islamic or Christian extremists. They are sick fuckers.

Sheesh, I can't believe these questions Larry King was asking. I don't blame Larry King or his writers.

It amazes me that 4...5 years later we still have people in this country who believe this guy said he wants to wipe Israel off the map and that he hates Jews.

We have got to be the most backwardass, ignorant and slow country on the planet.

Ahmadinejad has explained and clarified his comments several times and there was a distinct and obvious error in the interpretation of what he said.

Although one could argue that he, Ahmadinejad himself, choose his words poorly or for the sake of drama and effect used his words rather loosely.

Regardless, much like the Iraq war where we still have citizens in this country (and a potential Vice President) who believe the invasion of Iraq was a response for involvement in the 9/11 attacks; we still have numb-minded individuals who simply believe and parrot what any irresponsible news source or President (Bush) spits out of his dispicable mouths.

It amazes me these questions still have to asked 4 or 5 years later.

Well, not amazes me. I know why Americans stay stupid. Because two-faced, lying, irresponsible politicians and talk show hosts continue to repeat the same bullshit lies and misconceptions....over and over.

So I am not amazed. Disgusted is more like it.

Looking back on this thread, to the people I was debating with, is it fair we can agree on this.

-Bush is an undeniably crappy president.
-Military intervention in Iran is not a good idea.
-Ahmadinejad is a crappy President who leads a country with a horrific human rights record, and if steps besides military action could be taken to stem such violence, they should be.

I think that's all I've been trying to say this whole time, personally.
