he needed the credibility among the democratic establishment and those concerned with defense/national affairs, a weak spot for him. it's a smart play on his part.
    and like that... he's gone.

I couldn't be more happy with the choice. Joe Biden is an amazing Senator and a great choice.

He is one of the most well respected Senators in the world. He will bring many strengths to the Obama campaign - he well provide assurance to those who are uneasy about Obama's lack of experience, when Obama needs legislation past Biden will be of great help by twisting arms and such just as Johnson was to Kennedy, he appeals to the blue collar workers Obama has trouble with - he's a blue collar, middle class (worth <$150,000), Catholic, rural, friendly, white guy.

Joe Biden is the perfect chocie for Obama and I will make a great campaigner.

Kennedy/Johnson & Bush/Cheney won. Kerry/Edwards lost. America likes the young figurehead at the top with an old experience guy at the bottom.

Looks like the Obama/Biden team is the perfect one to spearhead Israel's occupation and oppression of Palestinians. I wonder how many Palestinians will die for every vote that is punched in for Obama this election.

considering that even with our piss-poor turn out, american voters outnumber palestinians probably 10 to 1... i'm gonna guess 1/70th of a palestinian dies for every vote cast for obama.

hey man, you wanted the math! i just crunch the numbers :)

there are people dying the world over. what makes the palestinians so much more important than the millions of africans dying in civil war and hunger? i'm not picking my president based on any one issue. it's looking at the whole package. nobody is going to be perfect.

Who said it's more important? It's just a more talked about topic right now. Indeed nobody is going to be perfect, but on such a big topic like this, can he afford to be so wrong?

Imagine in the 80s you had an american candidate who said that he supports apartheid south africa, would you not be turned off by him?

same thing with this...It's wrong to support israel the way these guys do.

other than the fact that it's pretty much the hottest issue in the middle east, and one of the biggest in the world.

if the U.S. were to take an ACTUAL effort to end its blinded support of Israel and work towards the international solution, the entire world would look to us in a new light.

too bad obama and biden seem to want to continue down this same pathetic road...

sure it is. but it's like candidates on the right saying they support christian values. they all have to pay lip service, but nobody does shit about it. sure, they'll cut israel a check now and again (though didnt they recently stop doing even that?), but i think more than anything they all want to keep their hands out of it because they know it's just a huge clusterfuck over there.

It's like cutting a cheque for a killer every now and then so he can kill more, then being like "I don't really like to get my hands dirty"

When you say that you will stand by someone even when they do wrong, then arm them so they can do more wrong. I think that's a bit more then some lip service, no?
These are serious actions that have serious Consequences

not to mention the fact that obama (and clearly biden) has gone out of his way to show blinded support to Israel - in fact, moreso than any other candidate in history...

oh, and 'a check every now and then' inaccurately describes it: http://forums.pearljam.com/showthread.php?t=297543

what? America just seems like a really nice friend. :D all that money they give to little israel...Helping israel defend itself. and according to Biden, the palestinians are in a bad way because of bad Palestinian leadership. Not that little occupation thing

Obama is the candidate for the next stage. Bush was great for shitting all over civil liberties to create social control mechanisms at home, but he's ran his course. The next stage of the game is to enlarge the Bilderberger/CFR/Zionist/Halliburton/Skull&Bones/Federal Reserve/Exxon/Merck/DeBeers military oil whore cablist's sphere of influence to new areas of the globe. Bush had too much good ole boy Texas death penalty patriotism to be party to getting in bed with a bunch of foreign countries, unless we're running shit. Now we'll have a "citizen of the world", internationalist President with a zionist, globalist, CFR and long-time Bilderberger Vice President.

We should be able to capture control of a greater share of the planet's resources as well as crush our enemies from within through ruthless, exploitative capitalism .

BTW, Biden voted for the war and then bailed out of support because he had a competing plan on what to do in Iraq. He wanted to partition Iraq into three federated sections based on race/religion/culture (Kurd-Shiite-Sunni). That's worked well in the past (See Former Yugoslavian states). He believes Iraq needs to be escalated internationally. He also wants to expand our overseas troop deployments by sending troops to Darfur. For an example of our past sucess battling African warlords inside their own country, see Somalia.

Obama couldn't have selected a more elite-acceptable candidate.

So much for "change" and getting away from those Washington insiders.

Add it to the growing list of Obama flip-flops.

Obama was so set on keeping this a secret and sending out that text to let the people be the first to know. now the news keeps reporting " democratic sources confirm".... now, its not Obama confirming this, and we know it was a BIG deal for Obama to not let it leak.... what "democratic source" is sleazy and underhanded enough to leak this and make Obama look like a fool and let all the people excited about the "know first by text" people down? this REAKS of a Clinton move. NObody in Obama's camp let this out...

Like you need anymore reasons anyway. Was there anyone you would've been happy for him to pick that was a genuine front runner?

I just get the feeling whoever he picked, we would still see the same headline here from you..

Maybe that's not the case...Enlighten me if i'm wrong. I'm all ears.

I would have liked to see General Clark. I mean if I have to suffer through an Obama presidency I'd at least like to have the good General around.
