The human race will one day split into two separate species, an attractive, intelligent ruling elite and an underclass of dim-witted, ugly goblin-like creatures, according to a top scientist.

The alarming prediction comes from evolutionary theorist Oliver Curry from the London School of Economics, who says that the human race will have reached its physical peak by the year 3000.

These humans will be between 6ft and 7ft tall and they will live up to 120 years.

"Physical features will be driven by indicators of health, youth and fertility that men and women have evolved to look for in potential mates," says the report, which suggests that advances in cosmetic surgery and other body modifying techniques will effectively homogenise our appearance.

Men will have symmetrical facial features, deeper voices and bigger penises, according to Curry in a report commissioned for men's satellite TV channel Bravo.

Women will all have glossy hair, smooth hairless skin, large eyes and pert breasts, according to Curry.

Racial differences will be a thing of the past as interbreeding produces a single coffee-coloured skin tone.

    A thousand years is the blink of an eye in evolutionary terms. We'll change, but not all THAT much, if we last that long. Certainly not enough change to break off into a new species.

    He mentions that we will reach our peak in 1000 years becoming 6-7 ft tall but the split in species will occur 10,000 years from now. Nevertheless, I still think we wont be around by the year 3000.

    i dont know about that. Dog breeds come and go pretty quickly with forced selective breeding. Its possible, who knows.

    I'm a bit skeptical. I personally don't think that we'll be inhabiting this planet for that long either, but we also won't know what the environmental conditions and available resources will be around so I don't see how he can determine how we will evolve unless he knows these fundamental conditions of human existence.

    I've been saying this for awhile now. Race needs to be put in the past.

    that may be so. but is that what we're talking about here with humans?

    and this shouldn't be some huge revelation. rumour has it this is what happened when we evolved differently to our primate cousins from a common ancestor.

    I don't buy it.

    Considering that we evolved from something like an amoeba. Who could have said then our physical peak would be bipedal with a well-structured central nervous system? Who knows what we could evolve into?

    This is rediculous. Read the hypothesis again. He states that plastic surgery will promote this. That is absurd when you realise that the offspring of persons having PS do not inherit the altered qualities. They inherit the ones the person had erraticated or altered with surgery.

    What is also rediculous is that with the genetic nature of procreation, even light "coffee colored" skinned individuals can have darker or lighter or pinker children. So unless persons with those qualities stopped procreating all together, the "inbreeding" will never erraticate them.

    Also, when everyone supposedly "looks the same"....people will desire something completely different. The definition of "beauty" or "perfection" will change again. Quite possibly then, ugly will be the in thing! ;)

    I think the most accurate part is the major split between brain power. The groups of people that don't read,write or really think much. They just sit around not doing much, if they get sick they just take some meds, they don't gym,run or play sports so they'll have major health issues. When those people have kids, those kids become the same and it continues for thousands of years and they end up being the dim-witted, ugly goblin-like creatures.

    Then the other group, the ones who read, get out and run and whatever else. They will be the ones evolution favors.
