One of the biggest mistakes ever? Why do you say that?

i agree with this. i think hard time (pun intended) would be being cellmates with a big fat sweaty hairy guy named Bubba who likes to butt-slam his roomies. I'd be like, "So how do you hook this electric chair up?"

Ok, not ever. But a big mistake. First of all, I think the date was not a good idea. On top of that he wasn't even judged for all his crimes yet, which I think is very weird and unusual, not to mention not fair to the families of the victims. I always oppose the death penalty. And I think the Iraqi courthouse was a tool of the US gov't. I don't think anything was solved.

Rumsfeld did not have torture chambers. Rumsfeld did not beat a man then make him watch as his wife and 6 month old child had there heads bashed in.
    Saddam did.
    You are wrong.

No dude..Rumsfeld supported him and gave him the chemical weapons that was used against the kurds. He was a puppet of the United States. Is that too hard to understand?

Nice dodge, but you can't answer it, can you? What should be done about the people who have supported Saddam's regime, who have given him weapons so he could do those terrible things? Are they less evil? Shouldn't they be punished as well? Do they not have responsibility as well in all this? If you think not, than surely you'd like to see Manson out of jail.

Look, stop acting like you have all the answers to this fucked up situation. Your answers are no more correct then mine. If they were then the war would be over by now. I am not defending aur goverment or Rumsfeld. I just think a person like Saddam does not deserve to live on this earth. He belongs in the pit of hell.
I was thinking of these threads last night while watching the History Channel. They were showing the home videos that Saddam and his sons kept for viewing pleasure of men who were beaten very badly. One guy was one of his guards and he made some mistake so they publicly broke his arm in the street. Another guy was thrown off a building for his mistakes. Another was Decapitated.
After hearing this you still think he should not have been killed?
    Thats insane.

I'm not acting like I have the answers, I have a few questions but you refuse to answer them.

My question is simple. Do you think people who supported the terror of Saddam are guilty in some way? Do you think they deserve to be punished?

It's a simple question, this is the third time I asked it. But I guess you can't answer it.

Yes, I still think the death penalty is wrong and that he should not have been killed. And I think that's very sane.

I can not answer this question b/c I do not know if they....
(our goverment obviously) knew what they were supporting. I do not know if they expected this type of outcome.
Again, I am not defending our gov. I think it is a mess. They are wrong for many many reasons but I am still proud to be an american.

Do you even know why they supported Saddam during the war with Iran? Did you ever ask yourself, why the war with Iran was a draw? Did you ever ask yourself if the region was better off with know one winning the Iran/Iraq war?

Yes, they were aware what they were supporting. I don't see how the outcome of it matters. In the 80s Reagan feared Iran, not Iraq. They went with a sort of the enemy of my enemy is my friend policy and supported Iraq in a war against Iran. Knowing the terror he'd cause.

This is fact. This has nothing to do with being smart, any moron with a computer or a library card can get this info in half an hour.

But finally, you answered my question. You don't think they have to be held responsible to some point.
