I bet there's thousands of stories to be told like this. These same stories were told after Vietnam aswell. It's a shame that people have such short memories and will allow themselves to get fucked by their Government, their media, and their peers.
More Vietnam vets committed suicide after the war than the amount of those who died in actual combat. I wonder if this fucking sham of a war will produce similar consequences?
I wonder how many of the pro-war flag suckers on this message board will give money to all the homeless, crippled and maimed Iraq war vets they see on the streets a few years down the road?
It's also a shame to think that without doubt this same shit will occur again in a few years time. People never fucking learn a lesson.

Speaking of sweet reflection... I voted for Bush in 2000 and I must say it does feel quite good to have been a part of the minority that did, and still won. Of course, that may spoil the beauty of your quote. :(

Can you smell that? Smells like democracy.

And what principle were you voting for exactly?

It has absolutely nothing to do with the topic of this thread.

Just giving you something to do, along with something to moan about.

    Did it work?

I guess it gave me a reason to ask you. I should have counted on it being pointless.

It was people like you, who voted for Bush, who can claim a share of the responsibility for all the dead and maimed American troops in Iraq in the last 4 years. Well done!
Anyone who cares about their fellow Americans, and who voted for Bush, should feel ashamed and angry.
Obviously, though, some people care more about the bank balances of the rich and powerful in America than they do about the increased threat of terrorism - courtesy of Bush et al - and of seeing American sons and daughters maimed and killed in a bullshit war.

That's the most moronic thing I've ever heard Byrnzie.

You're a legend around here though. Don't let any ol' perception of people like me stop ya from speaking. I'm far less critical of your freedoms I'm afraid. It was either Bush lying about WMDs or Gore lying about global warming, huh? Of course we gave Saddam WMDs..... Who knows what Al's talking about.....

So lets see... Everyone who voted for FDR was partly responsible for every WW2 death. Everyone who voted for Eisenhower , Kennedy and Nixon are responsible for deaths in Vietnam. Lets see... Everyone who voted for Clinton is responsible for the deaths in Somalia.

Of course, that would make everyone who voted for Clinton responsible for the obscene profits Ridley Scott earned from directing Black Hawk Down. For that matter, Hollywood has profited from war so much its ludicrous. Who's up for the Vast Hollywood Conspiracy? Saving Private Ryan grossed $482 million dollars world-wide. All that money made re-enacting the tragic events that occurred on the beaches of Normandy.... We should all write or local director.

Jesus, being liberal is a piece of cake. But you knew that...

i really take offense to that statement. why don't you go around pointing fingers at and laying blame on the democrats for not garnering enough people to vote for them?

i try to shake my head at some of the things said around here, but this one really gets under my skin. if the roles were reversed, i'd never tell someone they've got blood on their hands because of who they voted for. that's just childish.

Don't worry my2hands... I share responsibility for the post-war deaths as well.

    What's your point?

I'm more than open to the idea of you attempting to place as much guilt as possible on me. Please, have at it noble poster.

O.k, maybe my comment was a bit of a stretcher. But when I watch that video link and then hear someone profess to being proud of voting for Bush, weird connections start happening in my brain. Don't blame me, blame my synapses. ;)

No, it was a true statement. Knowing in 2004 what this administration had lied about and how terrible things were going in Iraq -- anyone who voted for Bush should feel responsibility for what has happened since. No way to argue around it. Guilt is a terrible thing so they rationalize it anyway they can.

the fact is that if you voted for Bush in 2004 you were voting in support of pre-emptive war, cronyism, restriction of civil rights, restriction of human rights, restriction of personal rights and the right to privacy, and out right discrimination. period.

this is all i'm going to say about your statement and limbo's: you have absolutely no idea why i voted the way i did and i don't have to explain myself to either of you. you can make assumptions all you want, but don't make it sound like you know what i (or anyone other than yourself) think.

i think everyone knows what W's platform and track record were when the votes were cast. pro-war, pro crony corporation, and anti~gay. throw in some torture and the patriot act and i think we know his stances on the previuosly mentioned issues. i support your right to vote for anyone you choose, and for any reason you chosse. but the facts are the facts. we all fuck up, so we just gotta learn from those mistakes.

by voting for Bush in 2004 you supported his stances on these issues. period. that doesnt make you hitler, it just makes you a bushie

Well, first off, I'd like to begin by saying that I support the troops... Which hopefully makes everything I say from here on out O.K., right?

Secondly, yes I support the current operations inside Iraq. When Al-Qaeda has been eradicated it will be time to come home. No need interfering with civil disputes. We're beginning to see the impact Al-Qaeda is having inside Iraq with the recent developments of U.S. and Sunni forces now fighting alongside each other. Who knew? Not one word from the Sunni's about "Bush brought Al-Qaeda to Iraq" or any of that other garbage liberals in this country love to spew. They're starting to understand the impact of terrorism; as we did four years ago. Did the administration juice a few things up leading up to the invasion? I'm sure they did. I believe it to be rather niave to believe otherwise. Did they lie on levels that people in your corner want me to believe? No way in hell. Not even close. The events of the '80s alone justify most of the reasoning. The rhetoric from both sides of the aisle throughout the '90s was the same and it continued through 2000. I also understand that hindsight is 20/20. Please Democrats, tell us more... But, by jumping on the 20/20 train you don't become some sort of genius that could have prevented all the worlds problems simply because your votes happen to match up. Do you want me to ramble on about Iraq further? I can.

Do you want me to sit here and spit out bullshit about how you're partly to blame for the deaths of Cliff Wolcott and Donovan Briley? Or the thousands of dead civilians who died in Bosnia? What about that poor janitor inside the aspirin factory?
