This scenario isn't enough to prove all humans are violent. Neither are individual murders or mob hits or wars.
It's incredibly easy to condemn all of humankind for the actions of a few, but it's impossible to prove that position. The only reason that you could arrive at that conclusion is by:
1) Analyzing all the bad events. I do it as much as anyone else because it's easy.
2) Ignoring all the good things. This one is easy because nobody cares about good deeds enough to call it news.0 -

It's an event to celebrate the emancipation proclamation. not a gathering of atheists. I still don't know what the fuck you are talking about.0 -

I know what you mean and I agree. I see that people (including myself) only look at the negative in life and not the positive events taking place. And the actions of a few cannot generalize humans. I'm just upset with the way some people chose to live their lives.Cincinnati. 6.24.06 Portland. 7.20.06 Gorge I. 7.22.06 London. 6.18.07

And who the fuck said the government was atheist?0 -

And who the fuck said the government was atheist?
My thoughts too.
Beyond that, the odds given that it's Texas, is that the people who were the mob and sadly decided to kill are Christian.0 -

Violence at these celebrations is nothing new. The worst part is that one of the consistent themes of Juneteenth events is stopping violence in African-American communities."Almost all those politicians took money from Enron, and there they are holding hearings. That's like O.J. Simpson getting in the Rae Carruth jury pool." -- Charles Barkley0 -

What the hell. Am I the only one who is completely confused by this?0 -

Sorry for the confusion. This isn't a commentary on the specific incident. My point is that these events, whether b/c of distrust of police or shoddy risk management, have an undercurrent of violence in them. I think it's sad that a positive event that trumpets an end to black-on-black violence turns into something like we saw in Texas. But Texas isn't alone. Syracuse, Denver, Milwaukee and other cities have seen these festivals cut short by violence or the threat of violence. The fact that this was a mob action murder may align itself more towards previous mob violence in places such as Chicago where a crowd of onlookers killed a motorist for hitting a child but I still wonder how a celebration of freedom can turn into an excuse to riot. I feel for the kid but the passenger is the one who lost his life trying to stop the mob from taking "justice" into its own hands."Almost all those politicians took money from Enron, and there they are holding hearings. As much as I can see where mob violence has a place in society. And the fact that I believe in the death penalty. Some how, some way, I don't think the driver of this car had any intention of killing this kid. Opposed to people who rape others, break into houses for the sole purpose of killing, etc. I think you may see the difference. You've changed your place in this world!0 -
