at least he wasn't pardoned... he's still out 250K and has a felony on his record.make sure the fortune that you seek...is the fortune that you need0

Of course Bush commuted Libby's sentance. It was all in the deal when Scooty boy took the fall for Dead Eye Dick. No one in the Bush Administration was going to have Scooter shooting off his mouth in retaliation for going to jail. It was a Fait Accompli.

So Bush overrules the law of the land. What's new? The Bush Administration have shown again and again that they see themselves as being outside of, and above, the law.0

"Above the law? who, us?" We get our friends out of prison, hide DUI's from court records, laugh at subpoenas, "lose" thousands of e-mails, fight oversight by claiming that the Legislative branch doesn't have the right to investigate the Executive branch (then claim when the Executive branch wants to investigate that the VP isn't in the executive branch), discredit election opposition by a) questioning a former POW's sanity or say start rumors that he had a black baby b) question a former war hero's service when you got out of service.... I'm sure that there is a lot more...AP Article wrote:"I respect the jury's verdict," Bush said in a statement. "But I have concluded that the prison sentence given to Mr. Libby is excessive. Therefore, I am commuting the portion of Mr. Libby's sentence that required him to spend thirty months in prison."
Bush left intact a $250,000 fine and two years probation for Libby, and Bush said his action still "leaves in place a harsh punishment for Mr. Libby."
Still leaves a harsh punishment... yeah... $250k, Cheney can piss out that much.My whole life

What's the real pisser about this is that Bush indicated early on that he would not interfere with the judicial process and let whatever may be in the case of Libby, ride. As justice. If nothing else, you got the feeling that Bush had given way to the pressure of doing the right thing to, at the least, appease something of his ridiculous presidency.
What a fucktwit.

I am actually surprised that they didn't wait until tomorrow to take out the trash with this one... They have given the news media almost a whole 24 hour news cycle to make noise about this. I just figured that they would have announced it tomorrow at like dinner time.My whole life

like they give a shit what anyone thinks.....:rolleyes:0 -
anyone....just hit me with a brick. Because I really thought (and have been quoted on here as saying) that Bush would never pardon Libby, he would see it as political suicide, knowing as I do that Bush lives in a bubble and doesn't realize he's already committed it.
I myself see nothing wrong with the idea of impeaching Cheney and Bush immediately, and setting up the Speaker of the House as our interim POTUS until the next election (and for those of you who don't know it, the House Speaker becomes Pres when both the original Pres and his or her Veep step down...for whatever reason).
That does, of course, mean Nancy Pelosi would be our Pres.
And frankly, I'm okay with that, as long as no one gets used to the idea of a female POTUS and votes Billary in to take over, Rover, and put all our good intentions aside.Feels Good Inc.0 -
