Anyway, it is not that because he studied and understands science that he's an environmentalist: in my department the majority of people are not environmetalists...
One point that is also worth making is that although volcanoes release some CO2 into the atmosphere, this is completely negligable compared to anthropogenic emissions (about 0.15 Gt/year of carbon, compared to about 7 Gt/year of human related sources) .

I'm a bit apprehensive about quoting the 10 years thing myself because although it does highlight the urgency of the problem, it does sound a bit alarmist especially if they are off base even slightly or it doesn't become apparent for a while longer, it will give the skeptics only more reason to point at the failures of climate data and thus deflect from the problem itself which is very real.
