  • Umm...this is the guy who couldn't beat George Bush in an election, right? The guy who was a sitting vice president during 8 years of strong economic growth and relative peace, yet who failed to beat a person who no one really felt that strongly about?

please run al gore...and here i thought only hillary could guarantee a republican win... now there are 2 possible candidates that can't win.

Let's be fair here. He's won before.

no...it only feels like 8 years.

like it or not, dead horse or not, bush was handed the 2000 election by the supreme court. that is an undeniable fact.

who really won the 2000 election? katherine harris. who lost? america.

what's funny is Florida LAW said there had to be a recount, but the republicans used the court to overrule state law.

then when the courts decide if the california recall shouldn't happen a few years later the republicans cry about it's california law and the court has no place to overrule state law!!

    gotta love the irony...or hypocrisy

he had a voice that was strong and loud and
i swallowed his facade cos i'm so
    eager to identify with
    someone above the crowd
someone who seemed to feel the same
someone prepared to lead the way

No thank you. He may be a better option than Hillary but by no means is a good candidate.

Honestly, I didn't know much about Gore and prior to seeing An Inconvenient Truth I was a major skeptic of Global Warming (as many of you know).

I watched this film on the weekend and I am now convinced. It wasn't what I expected from a politician. Gore is not a real politician.

If this guy had won against Bush, the whole world would be better.

And better ways that he can be productive as opposed to being hamstrung by political office. Him running for President would be a waste of his time and ours.

How did it go "I am the former next president." - Al Gore.

I doubt he's going to run, but I think he'd be better than Hillary or Obama, although either of them is an improvement on a republican. ;)

it seems the reason Gore is even mentioned in running now is b/c he won an Oscar...that lends credibility to anyone. If he is that passionate about global warming and offering solutions maybe he should focus his efforts on policy change via lobbying education etc... rather than losing 2 years of his life (and putting his global warming crusade on the back burner) campaigning for something he can't attain...again. He can prob do more good out of the whitehouse than in. If he really wanted to win people over he'd quit with the whole humans are responsible angle and work towards here's how we can better use our resources. Not too many people will argue with being efficient with resources but more people will argue with humans are responsible for climate change.

I don't want him to run, either. I just think he's a pretty decent guy and he's got a lot of passion in him. He got more votes than G Dub the first go round so I didn't undertsand the whole 'no chance in hell' position. I'd say he's probably more popular now, after his film and the oscar, than he ever was before.

I have yet to see 'An Inconvenient Truth'. I'm going to have to get to that.

It's not a sign, it's Article 2 of the Constitution. It happens every time. So actually, it's rather normal.

and improvement over the "republican" in office now...

there is no way hillary or obama could win...one of them getting the party's nom. is like acquiescing to a rep. president for four more years...

i have been trying to find it...

why don't you want him to run? i think his move to the green-left makes him a good candidate for someone like you...but, what do i know.

I feel like he had a chance as VP to help make some big changes and blew it. Perhaps he wasn't as informed and impassioned at the time as he is now, I don't know. I just see Cheney's influence in the current admin and didn't see that so much with Gore.

  • It's hard to run on the "green-left" party line. Look at Nader even though he was strictly Green/Independent. Plus Gore lost (not the popular vote) so I would bet its even harder to run a second time.

I do want to see his movie as well!! :)
