  • That is why it important not to listen to movie stars and their opinions.

Maybe you should start. You didn't listen and got 8 years of the Bushster, now look at the country.

Nah Nah Nah Nah, we were right. Your vote ended up being a vote that helped kill innocent people.

I'd love to see an actor or actress or rock star ect. say something like this when asked about an election...

interviewer: "so (actor) what are your thoughts on the election?"

interviewee: "I most certainly have a political opinion. But, you know what they say about discussing religion and politics, right?"

interviewer: "well that's at the dinner table.."

interviewee: "yea, well I kind of think a large amount of people (probably half) will be turned off by me beating up their candidate. I have an opinion just like anyone else and you know what... I'll tell you, I'm voting for Obama. But, that's as far as I'm going. I don't see a need when I'm an actor to act as though I know more or my votes more valuable than a janitor in Oregon or a truck driver in Michigan in regards to this election. I have an opinion and a vote and will be voting for Obama. But, I'm not jumping up on a soap box trying to convince others to do as I do. They work for their home and their government, they pay their tax money, they are entitled to their opinion without having some actor say they are wrong. My opinion is Obama's best for the job. That said, I respect the other point of view as well. "

****This will never happen, but if it did, I'd have a deep respect for that person.

I don't get this. There are janitors all over Oregon and truck drivers all over Michigan that would voice their opinions when asked, and even campaign for their candidates. Why should actors or musicians be any less entitled to do this than janitors and truck drivers? Just because they're public figures?

  • I think you are overly dramatic about it, looking for yet another way to be offended by the Evil conservatives. If he qualifications for VP are so bad, then Obama surely isn;t qualified for President.

OUTSTANDING RESPONSE... not one mention of why she is qualified, except that I am "overly dramatic" and want to insult the evil conservatives.. no, you are wrong and she is wrong to be even considered.

The thing I think is so funny is that you conservatives are trying REAL hard to convince yourselves she is right for this position and your arguements are getting weaker and weaker EVERYDAY.. even the conservative people I know can be honest and say they think she is wrong and that it probably has lost McCain the election.

How do you know who I voted for? How about this my state was won by both Gore and Kerry. Since I was in Iraq my absentee ballot was still checked for Kerry. So please do not assume. Here is a little home town quote. GO FUCK YOURSELF!!!

What for shutting up and keeping quiet?

These celebrities are given a very rare platform and exposure that not all of us ever get a chance to have in our lifetime. Their views reach many more people and can have an impact.

I have more respect for someone that uses that platform to speak their minds on REAL issues. They have a voice and they are using it for the better of the country.

It's a hell of alot better than using that camera time to continually market or whore your product all the time.

It's refreshing every once and a while to hear someone speak up and show that they care about things.

It's refreshing to hear something other than:

"Hi...I'm TV's so and so...please go see my movie and buy my album. I think it will make you really happy...just like me...It may not make you rich like me...but at least you won't have to think...you'll just have to buy and buy and buy...Thank You for you money..God Bless America".
  • GO FUCK YOURSELF!!!

Bush is evil and anyone who supports him is clearly on the side of evil.

How did I support him by enlisting in the Army prior to him being elected president?

Oh sorry. I thought you were a Bush supporter. Missed the part were you said you didn't vote for him. I'm just amazed at how some people don't get it yet. I don't listen to celebrities nor do I follow there every move. Most people wanna know what designer did a clelebrities cloths and who they are dating and how much they sold a house for and want a hair cut like them and so on and so on, but the second they say I like candidate X, everyone says who the hell cares. It's just funny the hypocrisy. I happened to agree with Damon and obviously you don't. Your gonna vote for McMoron I assume because he was a war hero. Whatever floats your boat.

  • Thank you for your support. Even though I did not support GWB with his reelection in 2004. I tried to support this country and him even though he was not the person some people wanted. If the next president, whether it be Obama or McCain, fails we as Americans Fail. Whoever the next president is we need to support. If he is not a success then in 4 years we vote their ass out.

He's really right. Whoever wins we should really try to rally behind and try to get over this partisan bs. There are too many different ideals in this country to ever have drastic reform. We need to do our best to work together and this country will be fine.

I agree with this, but I fear that ship has sailed.

The only way for the party out of power to gain power in this country is to root for the policies of the other party to fail -- EVEN IF THEY ARE THE RIGHT POLICIES.

It's sick. And, yes, it's a sickness that has infected both sides of the aisle.

Agree or disagree, I think McCain would *love* for this to be an Obama commercial.

The support of Hollywood celebrities have been real good for Democrats so far. Oh wait ...
Did you listen to it??? If it doesn't also scare the living shit out of you that this person could be president....

We are such a backwards freakin country....wtf.

The infection is greed and ignorance. Folks going for McCain are winning in the polls on both counts....by large margin.

Obama McCain politics are night and day.

Matt Damon is being attacked as a form of censorship. Last I checked we are all created equal and have all the same rights including freedom of speech.
Since GWB has been in office I have found that we as citizens are not allowed to speak our opinions anymore.
If they attack people like Matt Damon certainly others will keep their mouths shut.

Censorship will only get worse if we are silent!
