Maybe Theo needs to sign Ed up....made he could drive in some fuckin' runs since that no-hitting bunch of turkeys the Sox have now can't seem to do it
All I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow

Jeez .5 game out of first - almost scoring as many runs per game as we did last year at this point in the season. 5.01 this year vs 5.11 last year.

Higher Batting Average then last year, more HRs per game then last year, higher slugging % then last year.

    All this without Big Papi?

Its the middle relief - not the bats.

    SHOW COUNT: (149) 1990's=3, 2000's=53, 2010/20's=89, US=109, CAN=15, Europe=19 ,New Zealand=2, Australia=2
    Mexico=1, Colombia=1

Upcoming:  Sacramento, Vegas x2, Manchester, London, Chicago x2, NYC x2, Fenway x2, Ohana x2  Aucklandx2, Gold Coast, Melbournex2

One more bat plus lots of bullpen relief = another Sox title. I like Lowrie more than Lugo and never understood Theo's crush on Lugo. Papi will help but we need a potent lineup to combat the Angels. If the Angels wind up w/Texiera, watch out!

Well thanks for all that....you've made me feel a little better. I truthfully didn't realize those facts, but the bats do tend to get pretty quiet now and again. The middle relief has been a problem for sure, but Beckett just doesn't seem as dominate....there just seems to be something missing and I don't think Papi is it, although his return certainly won't hurt! Somehow, I don't foresee a repeat in the Sox future

The Sox DO NOT want to run up on the Angels in the postseason this year...the result will not be good

I'm not worried about the Angels. They can't seem to beat the Sox in the post season. I think the Sox are 6-0 against them in both their World Series runs.

Once Masterson gets recalled to shore up the relief and Papi is back, the Sox should be fine. I think they could use another piece here or there to help out with backend of the bullpen, but if the cost is too high in terms of prospects it's not worth it.

Yanks are a bunch of washed up old timers hanging around on borrowed time...no matter the result of the series this weekend the Yanks are of no threat to either the Sox or the Rays...although Tampa might still be in for a late-season nosedive. But that does seem less and less likely as time goes on

I think Tampa will fade the first two weeks of September. Of their first 15 games in September, 12 are against the Sox and Yanks. That's brutal for any team yet alone a bunch of kids who have never experienced real pressure before.

Posada on the DL plus no Matsui plus questionable pitching equals no Series for the Yanks this year. I think Moose's Cinderalla story will reach midnight if they make the playoffs and Petitte is not long for October. Joba experiment is still and experiment for sure. I think the Cubbies will be interesting this year once they have Soriano back. If only the Sox managed to keep Hanley at SS---as Phil Rizzuto would say, "Holy Cow!"

Yeah. I made that mistake last year with Dave and Tim. Saw them Friday 420 in Boston and instead of going to the Sox/Yanks game Saturday like I wish I had done; I went to UMASS to see them again. :(

I did the same thing as you Marc. I'm hoping the Wang Theatre is like the Opera HOuse for Ed's show as that was really cool seeing Dave and Tim in that setting. Umass had tons of hot young chicks but I felt bad for Dave when he was telling war stories and 20 year old drunk dummies wouldn't shut up. Too many hot chicks to count and didn't like they shut off booze at like 9pm. But with those many kids I understand.

Seriously, what you should do is find out if there really is class. I can't tell you how many times I've cut off my Thursday night boozing college parties at like 11pm because of class on Friday morning, only to find out that class was cancelled.

I was thinking the same thing this morning while enjoying my coffee. Down the stretch I just don't think the Rays are going to be able to stand the pressure. The Sox, on the other hand, thrive in that kind of atmosphere.
I hope I am wrong and there is another title in the making. While I do doubt that it is going to happen this year that is based on what I've seen so far, but I have said throughout the season that they are certainily CAPABLE..but that don't put rings on fingers

Am I the only one at this point that kinda hopes the Pats win another Super Bowl instead of the Sox winning a WS (if I had to choose)? Funny saying this now when 5 years ago, I'd never think of it, but man last year eats me up. That damn Giselle needs to go away for a year! No seriously, jabroni's like that Dolphins guy with the weird name got at me last year. Brady needs to redeem himself. 19-0!

Yeah. That Wang Theatre was really nice. I almost felt under dressed. Hehe. Really classy place. I should have been satisfied with seeing them there and just gone to the game Saturday afternoon. Oh well. Live and learn. At least I'm making it back next weekend. Might not be against the yanks but I'll have great seats and have a great time.
Yeah. UMASS was full of college kids. Could have done without the yelling when dave spoke but that's what you get with drunk college kids.
