Nope, the heart feels/reacts based on what the mind thinks. You have to be angry about something, which means intellectualize it as something to be angry about before you can feel angry about it. A joyful occasion has to be thought to be joyful before it can be felt, and for you to physically respond: the eyes open up, and your face is flushed with the rush of emotion, and your smile opens involuntarily.

you touch her while she's sleeping

the taste of her still lingers on your lips

and you tell yourself it's nothing
in the morning you'll remember
that the night is still the night and then it's gone

but the dawn brings back the moment
as you stare out of the window
and you realize how much you have to lose

so you make a pot of coffee
and you listen to the wind blow
and you go walking aimlessly along the shore

seems the space I've put between us
is just something to replace us
and the pain we've felt since each of us has gone

so I'm packin up my suitcase
and I'll see you in the morning
because..................
