400 for flights?? Nowhere near that to Wellington , more like 200..isnt it?I think id struggle for accomodation as I dont know anyone in Wellington that well. Id love to go to Melbourne as well, but by this time il either be poor because I dont have a job, or ill have a job and wont be able to get the time off. Sick days for the Wellington gig id reckon.
Sorry, my quote was for me and my girl. So yeah, $200 each :) It's just a bit much for one night in Welly.
I'd still like to know what my seats might be like in Oz. I tried buying non-10C tix last time but they were so bad I couldn't justify the trip over...
Also, I figure if you're going to go to Oz, you gotta make it worthwhile and do more than 1 show. THe cost of getting over there and all that far outweighs the extra $100 for another ticket...

Michael Coppel will be the promotor in NZ too, I'd assume. Don't see why not, MCp is a pretty common promotor for NZ concerts (eg U2).

You're just going to fly for the weekend? Good for you. But don't give up hope yet. They'll be here, you just wait and see...

anybody keen on starting a pettition?

Good luck mate. We did it in 02/03, got thousands of names - had forms in record stores all over the country to go with the release of riot act. Had a webpage we advertised widely, including on the rock. Offered to have a competition and give the winner two tickets to see PJ if the petition was sucessful.

We failed.....the petition worked in 98 with Perth, but we couldnt get it to work. I wish you luck, but please dont hold your breath

And forgive my cynicism, I guess when you put so many hours into a petition last time, only to get no reward, you do doubt..

    Cheers
    Scott

  • Here's the reply I got from 10C:

    Hi there.

We have announced Leg 1 and Leg 2 of the US tour. We have recently announced all of the confirmed dates for the European tour.

We are not officially announcing any more shows at this time. Please check our website often for details as they evolve.

    Thanks

Not sure what else you expected. 10C has been keeping things pretty close to their chest this tour... Maybe they'll give us a hint once they make their announcement...
  • Right I might change things up a bit...

Check out the link on http://www.theskyiscrape.com for Zane Lowes audio from his show with the boys on the other day. If you werent aware, Zane is a born and bred Kiwi who went over to London and is doing awesome work as a DJ there, plus the lucky bastard got to interview Matt and Ed last week.
They played Once as a "crowd starter' track which is so cool, and then had the boys on for 4 live tracks..all of which you can listen to on the link. Im not convinced about the new Garden but I love that song so hey....check it out! Zanes obviously a huge fan and its so much better hearing an interview from someone who knows his shit
Its been 8 years, but I still believe...PJ in NZ 06!

I reckon just be patient... theyll be there.
Those who dance are called insane by those who dont hear the music
  • Maybe the band sat down and looked at all the places they havn't toured for awhile. Hopefully one of them pointed out NZ.
  • I am a very OLD fan from Dunedin. A friend from the Gold Coast in Oz today told me they announced on one of the radio stations there that PJ was touring there in November so lets hope they come here too!!

Pearl Jam will be returning to Australia for the first time in 5 years this November, along with their very special guests, Kings of Leon.

One of the world’s very best live rock bands, Pearl Jam continue to push and challenge both themselves and all those they reach out to, taking uncompromising political stances whilst rocking out with a classic catalogue of music that continues to grow more than 10 years after they spearheaded Seattle’s grunge rock scene’s grab for world domination.

Joining Pearl Jam on their November dates are those sexy siblings of southern rock from the Followhill clan – Kings Of Leon.

No strangers to Australian audiences after two Big Day Out tours, Nathan, Caleb, Jarred & Matthew will kick the night off with their unique, gritty rock n roll anthems. Think “Black Crowes meet Aerosmith” by way of Lynyrd Skynyrd, UK punk, old school country & blues, add a dash of Velvet Underground, and you’re in the neighbourhood!

Pearl Jam with special guests Kings of Leon – how could you miss it?

    TOUR DATES*:
Tue 7 Nov - Acer Arena (formerly Sydney SuperDome)
Fri 10 Nov - Brisbane Entertainment Centre
Mon 13 Nov - Rod Laver Arena at Melbourne Park
Tue 21 Nov - Adelaide Entertainment Centre
*Ticketek is only selling for the above venues.

Tickets on sale Fri 19 May, 9am

I'm a student so these dates suck for me but I hope like everyone else here we get some NZ dates soon.
