  • OMG release day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm heading off to the record store soon. Wish me luck!!! And Dean, that fucking Tool fan what a fucking motherfucking cunt. As much as I like Tool some fans can be so fucking ignorant. At least Pearl Jam fans will also be getting Tool. Doubt many Tool fans will be getting Pearl Jam. What a bunch of ignorant fucks. Sorry but that comment was real low. I could understand if it was Nickleback or some other shithouse band.

Anyway I can't wait. I've been a Pearl Jam fan since eary 2003. But I've got pretty much everything by them since then and this has been a long wait for new material. This is officially the best day of the year. I don't think anything else will top it. Except maybe a Pearl Jam show in NZ.

Hey man, not sure that's really necessary. We're all fans, but lets not get carried away. I don't think the mods would like that language.

Well, I didn't end up going to teh midnight release, how lame of me! But after reading the posts that show the 10C version of the album I will have to pick up the regualr release too, now. Can't decide to get the 22.99 Warehouse one or $30 at CD/DVD store and get the poster, and entry to the competition. Decisions, decisions...

As for the concerts, Thursday is the big day, right? I'm hanging out to hear where they are playing...

I'm fine with it, just wouldn't want you to get banned at this crucial time.
So you got the poster? Is it decent looking? Which concerts are you going to go to?

On an unrelated note, has anyone seen the WWS video yet? A few of my friends have seen it on C4 and Alt a couple of times. I've yet to see it!

I didn't get a poster cause they didn't have them for some stupid reason. Gonna try another shop. The poster is just big version of the album cover. Would look good on the wall though. I have yet to determine which shows I'm going to but once the dates are announced I get the wheels going with booking flights etc. I've seen WWS Vid on the net but not on TV. I'm still amazed they actually done one.

Just a word of warning. In late 2002 when the tour dates for Australia were announced, NZ missed out. I was gutted. So in the spirit of Perth 98, I co organised a petition. We had thousand of signatures. We even offered to draw, at random, a prize of a free ticket to see PJ if we were sucessful. We werent. We did send the petition to the band

The point is, I put so much time into the petition, coordinating people all over the country, and we failed. We had forms on the counter at a number of music stores, we had the petition advertised on the Rock, but we failed.

The reasons? I have heard a few things, venues, ticket demand etc. I guess I dont know.

Point is, I cant get my hopes up for thursday. Oh I love this band, that was demonstrated by the 100s of hours I put into the petition. Forgive me being cynical, but I cant get excited for fear of further dissapointment.

I hope however that I am wrong

    Cheers
  • Can some one embrace me with whats happening on Thursday??

Thursday is supposedly the day the Australasian tour is announced. I'm pretty hopeful that they will play NZ this time. I can't see them skipping us again...

Assuming the rumoured tour dates are true: Which shows would you guys be going to and who all are tenclub members?

PS: I've had to go to work after only listening to the album once. This is hell.

Well ive just got the album, along with Tool's new one, I dont think that will get a listen to for a few days.
I'm going to put my headphones on crank the volume up and hopefully no clients ring up or want a meeting.

Probably just both Auckland shows if they do 2 and a few shows in Oz. That is assuming we can get 10C tickets to as many shows as we want and both NZ and Oz...

Just got the album $23 bucks at the warehouse, great value. Artwork is great as for the album I think I'm gonna need to listen to it from start to finish quite a few times to really appreciate it.

I live in melbourne and am hoping to make the Auckland shows should the dates fit in... keen to look after any kiwi friends who are making it over to Melbourne in exchange for some kiwi hospitality for the NZ shows.

I think Life Wasted or Gone will be the next single. Hope its Life Wasted. I'd really like Severed Hand to be the next one but I don't think It will.

The way I figure it, to go to Wellington would cost us at least $600 (i.e. ~$200 for 2 tix, ~$400 for flights and maybe I could find some free accom down there) and that would be for just one night in Welly. That same moeny would go a bit of the way towards a trip to Oz (i.e. enough for 3 sets of tickets), and I really think I deserve a trip away... ;)

We were planning on hitting Melbourne (haven't been there before) and maybe (depending on the timing) Adelaide. What do you think tickets will be like for Melb and Adelaide (I'm #213xxx)? Melbourne would have a big turnup, right?

Also, how easy/cheap is it to get from Melbourne to Adelaide?

Well I manage 4 europe concerts, I would of gone to more if it wasn't for the kiwi dollar its getting to be a damn expensive OE.
Damn this album is sounding brillant

400 for flights?? Nowhere near that to Wellington , more like 200..isnt it?I think id struggle for accomodation as I dont know anyone in Wellington that well. Id love to go to Melbourne as well, but by this time il either be poor because I dont have a job, or ill have a job and wont be able to get the time off. Sick days for the Wellington gig id reckon.
