I have absolutely no idea... but they're not the only ones.
I'm also a poster on the 'Down boards' - the forums for the band Down. They too have never played Alaska and just like here, there is a campaign to get them there. However! The band themselves actually post and read their forums and they STILL haven't got the hint... so Good luck with getting PJ there. As much as I'd like to see the news of a date being played and to see all your happy, excited posts, unfortunately, I can't see it happening in the near future.
Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.

On the next world tour it think it would be awesome if they played every state, at least once.

I second that. Alaska is unreal. I loved every minute of my time there, except for the 8 hours I spent puking on a deep sea fishing trip.

Don't forget Dutch Harbor. That was they could hitch a ride with the Hansen brothers on the F/V Northwestern.

Quote (by me) from another thread about selling 10C tickets to people who live in the area of the concert: "Whenever I see a suggestion about tickets to locals, I feel bad for Smokeabud in Alaska. He's been waiting for a show forever. What would his local show be?"

When I lived in Juneau there was rumors they were going to play in Sitka- never happened and doubt it ever was a thought but would have been cool. Would have to play Anchorage though. Unless Eddie would do solo gig and play at the Hanger in Juneau!

Heck with that - the Hillstrands would take them on the Time Bandit - oh would that be a dream come true - my two favorite men- Eddie Vedder and Jonathan Hillstrand! They both have homes in Seattle - could meet and plan the show.

    thanks RockMama :D ,,,

actually i've seen the boys a few times. mainly in Chicago & a couple of shows in the UK. (i'm a transplant up here) . but the venue i would be @ would be in the city of Fairbanks. thats where i relocated too & own a home & run my business. theres a few places that they could play up here, 2 come to mind. 1 is the Blue Loon. the other is the Carlson Center.

I would gladly help you. I can think of few things that would be better than seeing PJ in AK. I was born and raised in Fairbanks myself... growing up a PJ fan without any shows was tortuous! I have only been able to catch one show here in Seattle, too.

Maybe, they don't like Sarah Palin! :o Pearl Jam does not agree with her views. I hope PJ plays Alaska someday in the future.
