vedder....i am sure to be roecovering the next day after all the live pj and drink. i will be off for the holiday weekend starting with wednesday, but quite honestly, i don't plan on leaving my garden for 5 days. so if that is a 'less touristy' attraction NY, you're welcome to come out to LI!
cmon people, join in...you know you want to!
also, keep the ideas flowing......

rest is for pussies!
you will be so stuffed after the tour and Werchter!
I wonder if it will be nice and muddy and wet like last year??
can I come if I don't have beacon tix?
dinner would be better option, since i'll be crying in my beer while y're all rocking out
Why the hell are you crying? Seriously, I hope they have a great time but we have two nights of MSG to look forward to..Personally, I'd rather put that $600 toward a Vegas trip..actually we already have ..Don't get down over this..life is too short..

well call me a pussy then b/c i sooooooooo know how to embrace rest, and i plan to with *all* of my being starting july 2nd. proper rest is an art form.
NYbenben.....are you in?
*edit - just caught your 2nd post. cool.
and maui, you KNOW you are welcome ALWAYS, you pick the place for dinner and i am IN!
champ...stfu.
btw - one ticket = $350. (250 + 100 donation to join)
to *some* of us...worth every penny. and comparing pj at the beacon to vegas?! puh-leeze. you can keep vegas.
We need to find a bar that has tables outisde , or someplace to drink outside. If the weather cooperates, July 1 will be a perfect time for some al fresco action.

So I can call you pussy now? Anyway, $600=2 pairs of the cheapest tickets at $250+100 donation..and you are right, there really is no comparison to a couple of hours of a band I just saw two nights in a row at MSG (not to mention all the other times) to a few nights of fun with the love of my life in Vegas..lol....different strokes though right ..

do bars have tables outside open after 11 PM? just askin'....and hey.....go for it! if 'we need' to do so....do it! i am all for al fresco drinking. do keep in mind, i do personallt hink it's best to keep it close to the beacon as well. better for all to be close walking distance, less apt to lose many who may want to join in. just more points to consider. if you do find a place that fits all this criteria, do please post! thus why i started the thread NOW...plenty of time for ideas to fly about before we need to make a final decision. i personally think it would be great if we could decide no later than june 20th. this why the info will be posted a good whilke so anyone traveling, checking in, will have plenty of time to take note.
and champ dearest...
firstly, i can add. i was saying for MAUI, one ticket, all she needs. it ain't all about you. beyond that:
EXACTLY.
nothing else need be said.
and you may call me whatever you like. whether our friendship survives such onslaughts is another story.
i'll take my beacon show...you enjoy vegas...and all happy. just as it should be.

'Nothing else need be said.' But what if there still is? Surely you don't decide . And please don't be so sensitive, coz I really didn't mean the comment to be an 'onslaught' of any sort.......lol
I hate this place ..

we need to set in motion a beacon after-party! i KNOW i am taking the next day off work, extending my holiday weekend, and i am sure there will be others. also, LOTs of travelers around, so we should gather somewhere together for drinks and to share the post-show high!
i think it would be easiest and most convenient to find a place close to the beacon, but any/all suggestions are welcome!
*may also do a pre-show dinner, does anyone even know when the gig is meant to start?
btw - DOORS OPEN @ 8PM. definitely plenty of time for dinner pre-show!
anyone want to join in for dinner, restaurant TBA, let me know as well. i am definitely doing dinner beforehand, probably around 6 PM.
let's make it all happen! suggestions please!
i will update this post with any who plan to attend and wherever we plan to have this gathering, directions/info/etc.
count me in for this. (the dinner and afterparty, i can always find time to kill during the inbetween since i don't anticipate going to the beacon show.

due to emoticon limits, i had to remove my after my 'onslaught' comment. see, they ARE helpful for signifying humor and a whole range of emotions. no worries, i am not so sensitive, at all. and silly boy, of course i decide. ha. in all seriousness, of course not.......but surely, it's a-ok for me to express the opnion that nothing else need be said on that topic. no need for you to be so sensitive.
FYI folks - the lovely cc nyc needs a ticket! if ANYone has a spare, please post...PM her....me...whatever. she needs to get into this show!
awesome to see others joining in - i shall update!
Guinness doesn't travel well..plus it's summer...I'll have to try to remember what Newcastle taste like, it's been over 10 years since I had any.

just keeping it up top
any ideas for places for food and drink??
no firm decisions have been made yet, but don't you worry...word has been spread and ideas are in the works...and hopefully many can/will weigh in with an opinion here...and it all WILL be posted in this thread, in the first post. however, it has been requested to keep both local to the beacon for the ease factor of all.
btw - one thing i was thinking, especially as we in the NYC vicinity face a 90+ degree farhenheit, hot and humid weekend ahead of us ....someone mentioned the possibility of an after-party bar that has outdoor tables. in theory it sounds lovely, but after being in a NO a/c venue such as the beacon...getting hot and sweaty...and it being JULY in NYC.....it may be more advisable, and comfortable...to be in a/c. just a thought to consider...
Count me in for the After Party. The Pre-Party is that for those that paid for the $2,500 tickets? I'm one of them so were going to be across the street and some restaurant with free drinks and food.

I see that they have Rogue Dead Guy Ale at the bar. That Oregon beer is excellent and one of my faves.
