Cannot wait to see this place.

Probably be starting the evening off here. http://www.capcitybrew.com/downtown.php

    :D
I got tickets for Sat night show. How far is this place from the theater? I'm not from DC and will be looking for a hotel within walking distance. Anything to recommend?

I think a nice dinner out followed by this concert would be a perfect night. Getting a good Saturday night show in DC is such a treat--gotta make the best of it.

is the smallest venue on the tour... capacity 1800

i didnt want to mention that until the 10c sales were over ;)

i have never been there but i have seen it on TV... if you are interested it was the venue for comedian Lewis Black's last HBO special "Red, White, and Screwed"... check it out if you get a chance, Lewis Black is hilarious and it will give you some nice shots of the beautiful theater

Also that I hope there is a 10C rep to check to make sure no one's 10C tickets get mixed up. Don't trust the box office people at Warner Theatre.

This is why I was hoping he would play constituion hall or the kennedy center.

DAR is, hands down, the worst venue for a concert that I have ever been to.

DAR is ok. Just long lines for Beer. Thats where I had my high school graduation 8 years ago. Kennedy Center they charge a shit load to rent the venue.

I got a ticket for LA Night 2 in the Balcony on tm. And I was on when the sale started. The only thing tm really sold was back of the floor and balcony for those shows out there.

I would say 930 club is worse. But it would seat more people, and for just Ed on a guitar, it would not be bad. And when I saw PJ there in 98, it was a good show..

I like the 9:30 Club...a lot. For a small club, it has some of the best sound.

I went to a Pixies show at Dar and it would have been good if I enjoyed sitting, with my hands folded and head turned sideways staring at a stage while breaking this pose to politely clap between songs...plus you have to stand in a crowded narrow hallway in order to drink your beer. I have seen other shows since and have never once come away with anything positive to say about the venue.

I have been missing some shows that I would have loved to see lately because I cannot see myself ever stepping foot in that horrific venue again.

I agree. I've been there several times over the last 40 years and each time I'm amazed.

I have had different experiences at 930 club, sometimes it is good, sometimes really bad, and it is located in the complete ghetto. And like I said, I saw PJ at DAR in 98 and it was awesome. No one sat, I can attest to that. And I was just thinking of all the people that got left out, or are going to get left out. I think it holds 3000 people, so over 2 nights that is 2400 more people that would get a chance at these shows. And I am sure Ed on a guitar would sound pretty good. There are way worse places in DC than DAR.

Try going to the 9:30 again. You obviously haven't been in a while if you think it is in the ghetto (I am biased - I live across the street).

I'm with you though that the Kennedy Center would have been nice.

Agreed. I've only been to a few shows there, but it seems like no matter where you sit it sounds like you are under water. And two of the times they AC wasn't working and people were sweating their asses off.

I just booked a room at the Grand Hyatt for $139. Only four blocks from the Warner Theater.

Please don't. The only possible outcome is your neighbors hating you.
