Nope. I have been lurking ther for YEARS. Dating back to the Lindros days. I have a username, just don't post. I'm afraid I would get banned for going off on GMAN. I wouldn't be able to resist.
LOL, awesome.
And so you see, I have come to doubt All that I once held as true I stand alone without beliefs The only truth I know is you.
Seriously, i know the band loves to play the older historic arena's but rarely do they get the opportunity now to shake the old concrete and help lift the ghosts of memories past in classic legend filled arena's... well the Spectrum in Philadelphia is one of the last standing classic arena's left in this country... and it appears as though it is going to get torn down by it's corporate ownership, Comcast, to develop retail, hotel, and restaraunt space
So i think the boys need to get one final stop in at the Spectrum... 2 or 3 show stand would send it off just right
they have played it before, and they tried to play their again in 2005 but had to perform at the larger and newer Wachovia Center next door instead...
So now in 2008, with rumors flying about concerts and tours I think we should request that the band play the Spectrum for one last time, and give us local Philadelphia area fans one last opportunity to shake the foundation and wake the memories of this fine old building for one last hoorah, as only Pearl Jam and us freaks can...
The Spectrum may be past her prime and fading into an imminent and obvious demise... but we can give her one last night of life and energy...

Dude, they played the spectrum already. Why would they put out the loot for 3 shows when they could play the in front of more people across the street. The spectrum needs to be destroyed, I am pretty sure that the Comcast folks know what they are doing. Philly sports have exploded since Comcast took over, I guess you would rather watch Prism or something. What they need to do is get some real basketball players.
05 was my first PJ concert. Won't forget it. 2-3 night stand in Philly would be so kickass
Chances are?
slim i assume ;(

i am going to ignore this post for it's obvious ignorance... maybe the poster should read the original post
I'll be in there thursday for the FOO FIGHTERS. what a great place to see a concert. Comcast needs to come up with some serious capital to tear that baby down. I heard they would do it for like 3 yrs so we have tie.

firecrotch says... let them play! having to deal with comcast-spectacor a lot with my job, i would say its a long shot, not enough money would come in compared to the wachovia center but who gives a shit! give me the dates and im there!
Small my table, seats just 3, its not crowded, its just lucky me

i didn't know there were even plans to tear it down! i saw Pantera and Black Sabbath there in 1999. Pantera was good. Sabbath was going through the motions.
I support another show at the Spectrum, but it's going to be here at least another year.
The CEO of Comcast-Spectacor said in an interview that the idea of the 76ers playing in the Spectrum to honor the 25th anniversary of the last championship in Philly won't happen this year, but that the 76ers and the NBA are planning on having at least one game in the Spectrum next year as part of a throwback night.
So it looks like the Phantoms will be playing there as well next year.

Snyder always has said that the Spectrum wasn't going anywhere until after next season. That's so the teams currently there (Phantoms and Kixx) can find other venues to play. Also, the proposed hotel is the final stage of the whole Philly Live concept and will be done after most of the other construction is already finished.
That said, I still hope they add a venue inside the hotel much like the Music Box or other arena inside the Borgata. Only problem with that is Snyder's involvement with the casino trying to be built on the river. I'd assume that the casino would also have some type of theater included in its construction.

the fact is it is on the chopping block... so we need to rip the place down in style before the suits do
I'm actually hoping to see them in the Susquehanna Entertainment Center just so I can have seen PJ play in the same venue under under 4 different venue names.

Ditto, one of the best ever
If PJ is there, I'll be there
The spectrum is by far the better of the two arenas for concerts

the linc is not a good venue to see a concert hence thats why there havent been many concerts there.
if you really wanted to go for 3 it would be the center the spectrum and then a fan club only show at the Tower!!!
but i'll take the spectrum
which venue is that.. i am drawing a blank?
The new name for the Sony/Blockbuster Entertainment Center (e-center) which became the Tweeter Center. It is now the Sus. Horrible.
world fucking champs!!!
