    coming from Australia and seeing PJ there this year both times there is nothing like this in Australia... what a shithole of a place... why don't they play across the bridge in Philly? I hate that place and wouldn't go there ever unless it has to do with seeing a pearl jam concert.

    The Mann Center would be a great venue, but there is no access other than the Schulkyll Expy, which was a mistake when they build it decades ago. Imagine all the fans whining when they realize there are basically no parking lots, that you have to park on Parkside Ave on the street, and you will compete with family BBQ's that spill over from Belmont Plateau.

    The problem with Philly is that, other than the Stadiums, there is no highway access. Friggin PennDOT and DRPA couldn't agree on connecting a highway (676) and a bridge (BFB) so you end up having to stop at 1-2 traffic lights just to get on or off the Ben Franklin Bridge. They talked about building a stadium at Southampton and the Blvd (Rt. 1) in the NE, but once again, 95 would spill you onto Woodhaven Road, and then it is a traffic nightmare.

    Anyway, the shows in Camden are generally an excellent time, and a trip to Camden is a fair trade to see Pearl Jam. If there is any city that says "GET A BUZZ WHILE YOU ARE HERE" it is Camden NJ.

    I completely agree. It is the worst venue I have ever seen a concert in. The sound sucks, the place sucks. Just play the Wachovia Center. There was nothing going on there and we have to suffer through this shitty place.

    Camden is the one venue I will never visit again. I saw 2 PJ shows there and, while the shows were good, the place sucked. God help the poor souls on the lawn. I've never seen so many ugly drunks and rude a--holes.

    I can't even imagine how much piss has soaked in to that soil over the years.

    I won't go to camden again, it's just too far for me and plus I don't like the area. If they want to play Jersey, they should go to PNC. But then again PNC is 20 minutes away from me :)

    Camden isn't bad if you have seats, anywhere on the lawn pretty much sucks. Of course they are going to play there because it is usually warm in the summer when they tour, and it is an outdoor venue that can hold the most people. I would prefer they play in the city somewhere but it is all about the Benjamin's baby!!!

    The wachovia center holds 20,000 without counting the floor seats and Camden holds 28,000 and usually only gets about 25,000. Not much of a difference. there were 4 rows of empty rows in sec 204 alone. Of course thats where the 10 flub put me even though my member number should have had me in row 11.

    I've been to every Philly area show in the past 10+ years. Camden is definitely the worst venue. The sound sucks everywhere, even compared to other similar outdoor venues like Star Lake in Pittsburgh and Holmdel, NJ. I'd love to see them play the Spectrum as their Philly/Camden stop every tour. The sound is so much better and the arena feels pretty compact compared to the more modern arenas like Verizon in DC and Wachovia in Philly. Plus, I think the band appreciates the history of the Spectrum w/ great hockey and basketball teams playing their 20-30 years ago, as well as legendary runs by bands like the Grateful Dead in the 70's and 80's. At the only show there in 2003, Ed made a comment along the lines that it was an honor to play in the same building that Dr. J played in. They seemed to have more energy at that show than any other Philly area show they've done.

    the place blows. dont get me wrong i have a blast, but you guys need to bring it over the bridge and play the Wachovia Center or the Spectrum. It is a nicer city with more to do, more culture, and more places to stay (i notice the band stays in philly and not camden)... it is MUCH easier and SAFER to get there and leave there... there is TONS of parking, and not in some back dump area where you stare at old shipping containers and empty warehouses

    i also prefer the set up of the arena style show... all the 10c seats are good... i would MUCH rather be on the side at the Wachovia center then on the side of camden. shit, half the stage you cant even see if you are off to either side in camden... the energy is better... the sound is better... the line of sight is better for almost every seat in the venue

    it is pretty much a no brainer at this point...
