oh the cool words...yeah..add it!!!
a surrealist artist dad!!! how cool is that.........would looovvveeee to see some of HIS work as well - n he actually makes a living by his art - thats fantastic!!!
so then what are you studying in uni then??? quite interested now..................
I WAS kidding about the writing, Squirrel, since your writing will be very different depending on context...
When I saw the horses I immediately thought of a children's book just because it is such an energetic & imaginative composition.
As for your dad, he must be proud that you carry on with artistic ability. My mom was a graphic artist; she made beautiful silkscreens and woodblock prints that she sold to manufacturers in New York. It's fun to think that people used to have curtains and furniture with her designs printed on them! Well, keep up the good work, whether you choose to sell it or not...

but really...thank you guys for encouraging me that much...means a lot!!!
Well, Squirrel, if you get a big enough collection of pieces that you don't mind parting with, try showing them at an art or craft show. Try one that doesn't have an expensive entrance fee; that way you can test the waters without worrying about selling a lot at first. Otherwise, just enjoy yourself! I think it's gratifying, though, when others appreciate your work enough to buy it. After a while, customers start looking for you at shows! I've enjoyed seeing the same faces year after year-- and so far, no bad checks!
ahhh - languages. no wonder you do so well with your english!!! i so love language - as you well know - but sadly, am pathetic at all attempts at other languages :( - i think im beyond grasping a new language at this point in my life. my dad was from sicily, but we never spoke italian because my mom couldnt - i so wish i was taught it as a child.
so many of my students are bilingual - we have quite a large portuegese/american community - a few japanese - n unlikely enough, quite a few recently over from the ukraine. it is so much easier when youre that young.........your mind is like a sponge.
so - most impressed with your artwork n your language abilities...........always a bit jealous of the few friends that know 1 or more languages. my very good friend in finland speaks 5!!!

Would love to see your work, too, Dreamn...
It's cool that your dad paints in surrealism, Squirrel. I love Dali, Magritte, and others. Years ago I went to the Dali Museum in Figueres, Spain. The entire building was designed by Dali, so it looked like something out of Dr. Suess! It was a huge pink & yellow building with domes & arches & niches everywhere. When you walked inside, it was like walking into the wildest dream ever! Statues moved, art that looked abstract was reflected by metal bottles to look like objective realism.
Don't take drugs; enjoy art instead! Art galleries make me more creative with my jewelry, no matter what type of art I'm looking at...

It was a dream, not a nightmare. A beautiful dream I could never imagined in a thousand nods. I saw this girl next to me, she wasn't beautiful until she smiled. And I felt that smile come at me in heat waves following. Soaking through my body and out my finger tips in shafts of color. And I knew somewhere in the world, somewhere, that there was love for me.

You're one talented person, Squirrel. I did an Art Foundation course and thought about doing an Arts degree at one point, but I envy your draughtsmanship/draughtswomanship I should say really!
By the way....how are you getting on with your work on Language and Gender that you were talking about on another thread?
