Mark Richards/Pearl Jam Board

Tony Walters from Newcastle, whose four-year-old daughter Elizabeth suffers from cystic fibrosis, is auctioning a surfboard to raise funds for Cystic Fibrosis NSW (CFNSW) and the John Hunter Children's Hospital to help fight the life-threatening recessive genetic disorder.
Shaped by four-time world champ Mark Richards, the board is 6'11" long x 19.5" wide x 2.75" thick, features the Pearl Jam "Alive" stickman and was signed by Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder when the band played a gig at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre on November 19, 2006.
Pearl Jam also sealed the deal by asking MR to write the set list for the performance, which has been rated as one of the great Pearl Jam live shows. Mark is an avid fan and requested a heap of rarely played songs.
The Lizzie Alive Surfboard Auction will be held on eBay from November 9 to 19, the anniversary of the Newcastle show.

Coz much and all as I'd love that board, I couldn't afford to bid high enough for it AND I've got nowhere to put it anyway.

Ive just sat lizzie on my lap and shown her what you guys have been up to. she asked about why the boards called the lizzie alive board. she was very sad for ed when i told her the ALIVE story of how Eddie didnt know his dad she is now playing her musical instraments ( little guitar and keyboards singing her own songs about pearl jam) -pearl jam pearl jam singing singing songs etc- its so cool I love it

I had a conversation with Mark Richards tonite. he is absolutely raving about Into the wild. Reckons if it is one of the top albums of the year ( of course he is biased)
I will look at paypal in the next day or so
And Richo is right, Into the Wild is one of the top albums of the year, possibly even THE top album of the year.
Anyway, I'll do that donating thing in the morning and let you know. Paypal would be good.

Don't how ebay works but you might be able set that up so we can make donations through the same account the auction payment will be made to. But don't know if that can be done or not just a suggestion.

Pearl Jam Mark Richards Surfboard up for Auction. Running out of breath after a long hold-down can be one of the scariest experiences a surfer can have. However, for Cystic Fibrosis sufferers, this is the reality of day to day life. CF is the most common life threatening genetic recessive genetic disorder affecting Australians and seriously effects breathing and digestion.
LizzieAlive is a charity raising money for CF sufferers and research by auctioning a brand new Mark Richards shaped surfboard with Pearl Jam artwork signed by Eddie Vedder to commemorate the band's gig at Newcastle Entertainment centre on 19/11/06, for which Richards wrote the set list.
This is a great opportunity to get behind a worthy charitable cause and get your hands on a genuine piece of surfing memorabilia while you’re at it.

Lat year when PJ played at newy the guys who started the petition also organised the preshow party. The money raised went to the john hunter childrens hospital. I went with all intentions of meeting up with all my new friends from lifewasted.com.au but instead I sat silently with my best buddies and felt overwhelmed really overwhelmed. lucky I sat outside with my sunnies on to hide my misty eyes.
The jamily is a wonderful group of people
and here with also have jeanie for example- giving support to my family, my community.
I just want to hug everybody right now. im not a huggy person but this is so moving.
Ive gotten misty writing this.

Ya got me trying to remember which guy you were now. I was staying in the last Hotel room on the bottom floor so I must have walked past ya about half a dozen times at the pre-show.
I dont do water sports, but that board would look nice on my wall.
I was siting right in front of about the middle room. Had a very aged Black stickman Tshirt over last tours black/red longsleever. I had shoulder length brown hair.
stood close to Hinny at the auction of goodies.
jaamfaan it dosnt look good wrapped in bubble wrap hiding in the top of my wardrobe with a blanket over it- Im a tad paranoid
It will be a great piece for some lucky fan. I really hope it will be jamily member and not just some memorabilia collector.
but whoever pays me lots to help my daughter and her community of CF sufferers will get my everlasting gratitude
I've releaised how many people were there that afternoon and I'm bugger if I can remember anyone's face besides Rob now.
I was in a green Midnight Oil T-shirt for the get together then changed into a dark karki T with "UNFUCK THE WORLD" on the front.
