the book if it sucks can be sold but if its perfect than its free right
i think there are a few books around here that are funny enough to feed some people and then there are some that should be free
    like everything i say

count me in. i would love to be published.

i especially like the idea of the screen shots..that gives you the experience of being on this board

    AND

it looks like a movie screen to me, all black with yellow writing has really inspired me to actually be able to conquer my ADD and read some of these amazing posts.

will a portion proceeds go to some type of goodness?

it would be great for our dear BABALOOts too. ;)

i have not read the whole thread to i have work to do. this whole thing seems like deja vu or vuja day?

i will kick it around with a high power today. there must be a way to publish the book and still draw attention to a cause while recovering all the costs.

first. i MUST apologize for being a self absorbed BITCH child lately. i am sorry i suck so much energy from this board.

i still have not read the whole thread, so if someone already had these ideas, im sorry to repeat ...

*the idea is to help the homeless. what is the best way to help them, get them off the street and make miracles out of it. there are homeless people in seattle who do art. there are homeless people in this town who have stories, poems and maybe just thoughts. publish their work IN WITH ALL OF THIS.

*also, get Charles Peterson to take pictures of the real homeless situation in seattle. the good and the sad. put that in there.

*get mark pellington or cameron crowe to shot a video and pearl jam do a song about homeless.

*get famous people to do a spoken word companion to the book and feature as a special on VH1 and MTV. People will eat that shit up.

now we have produced a book, everyone gets paid, but most importantly the spotlight on the homeless that are featured will all be given large amounts of money from unexpected sources will will cause an avalache of good.

this is just of comsic stew right now, but it will work because so many people will go behind it.

    ALSO

since so many homeless people are just people with an untreated mental illness or addiction etc...

there are actually two charities that are included.

mental illness is also depression which affects how many adults and children in this country.

depression is just lack of love and hope.

which means the book is also a love story.

    :)

A love story........thats genius. I said once if my words (actialy I said music) can help one depressed person, I would die happy.

You have added energy to the bord in my humble opinion. But I think my own problems have taken away from it. FORGET ABOUT ME!!! Worry not, in the words of Ed "I'm still alive"........but "do i deserve to be".

Does anyone have the box CD set called The Beat Generation. I am sure someone must.

This is the style I am talking about:

The art of that time, the beat 'sploitation flicks, the coffee talk, the jive, the jibe ya dig.... the new grungey kinda of modern "Bailey" beat poet kinda feelish to it. I can see it all now.

Any body want to talk about this? It's been deadly silent since my last posting except for my darling sevensins.

maybe you are all having fun in the Santa Barbara sun!
  • :( Sorry, Gita, I don't have that CD.

I just wanted to say: Bump

Yo Yo Yo Gita, don't have the Beat Generation set yet

but I do have 2 CD's that are Kerouac induced, one of Jack reading his own stuff and another with other folks (including one Edward Vedder) reading his work.

    Good shit.

It was a dream, not a nightmare. A beautiful dream I could never imagined in a thousand nods. I saw this girl next to me, she wasn't beautiful until she smiled. And I felt that smile come at me in heat waves following. Soaking through my body and out my finger tips in shafts of color. And I knew somewhere in the world, somewhere, that there was love for me.

We should have one e-mail address we can send mostly finished peoms to that we'd really want to include. Everyone work on one good one and send it there first. The person with the address should post an update here on how many have been recieved. Then we can edit them later. "PJ Poetry Press" as the subject heading.

Is there a theme or topic? P.J. inspired? Thoughts on the time we live in today?

O.K.............How about everyone that is "in" submit one poem to: Arsiatharsis@msn.com by 01-11-04. This won't be a deadline to cut people out, but just to see our progress.

They could all be put into one file and then sent back to everyone who mailed one in to review. Then we can chat about it here, or on a new clean thread. And decide the deadline for the next submission.

    Subject: "PJ Poetry Press"
