Can only think of one off the top of my head. Around 1988 I saw Judas Priest and Cinderella at Kiel Opera House or Auditorium. We had nosebleed seats and the sound up there was really bad. We made fun of the headbangers for a bit but then gave up and went wandering the halls. We were soooo high up we had the place to ourselves. We found a ladies lounge that had a table and chairs and a phone so we stayed in there talking on the phone. We also discovered that the roadies were loading the trucks several stories below us so we talked to them out the window too. So it wasn't a total loss.

1 - Chicago (opening for PJ in 1998) just awful, guess I had to be a teen in the 1970s to appreciate; The Dream Police was ok

When the fuck have Chicago ever opened for Pearl Jam? Dream Police is a Cheap Trick song, and Cheap Trick rocks.

the Offspring (i was really flying around)
Kid Rock (what a waste of money and time)
Tad (so sad that i have to drop them here)
    sugar rey(anybody remeber them)

Frank Black 07 - really couldnt believe how bad he was, and i say that being a fan of solo & pixies....

i saw him twice in 06 and it was way better than the pixies reunion, actually the solo show(just him, no band) was one of the best shows i ever saw. i wasnt much of a fan of his new album. hopefully any 08 shows are back up to par.

as for my 5 i was looking forward too. saw some bad opening acts but they dont count. good charlotte, death from above, etc

    01. Fantomas - opened for tool. never heard them before but with the members thought this could be better than tool. boy was i wrong

    02. Live on V tour. like was mentioned with rhcp just seemed like this is our job we play for an hour something then next city

    03. tool - same show fantomas opened. boring like watching guys in the studio with hardly any lighting zzzzzzzzzzzz

    04. reid paley - opened for frank black ,frank i think wrote a song with him, and has talked of him before so i was hoping for something great. just not my style really but reminded me of an average bar band.

    05. sleater/kinney also high hopes for this band but greatly let down.

Gotta love Ben! Well as long as you're not in spitting range! He was such a prick, especially on the Down on the Upside tour where he would not only spit but also play with his back to the audience for 95% of the show (the other 5% was loogie time).

I apologize, it was Cheap Trick and I fixed my posting

They may have rocked at one time, but that performance was lame and painful, and I doubt I was not the only one who thought that, and I could tell from watching other people

haha Sugar ray :D Yes, I do I actually saw them on a tour with Goo Goo Dolls back in 98? 99?. FastBall opened as well. Actually sugar ray put on a pretty decent show I thought, actually all 3 bands did. They only played like 2 songs from floored and the rest of SR's set was 14:59 stuff. They had a mini bar on stage too wich I thought was cool and had like this whole coconut Hawaiian hut type set up all around the stage. Best part was lawn seats for opening weekend of the sale were 10 bucks. Saw I saw 3 pretty decent bands for 10 bucks. I couldn't complain. I just look at it going there's 3 more bands to add to my concert resume.'

Goo Goo Dolls.......worst sounding band I have heard live

Collective Soul........headlined and didnt even play for an hour, the singer made a huge fool out of himself dancing

Ryan Cabrera........went as a favor to the girlfriend, need I say more?

Yellowcard.........the singer thought he was really cool swearing nonstop between each song, the crowd was filled with idiot emo high school kids that were moshing to a band with a fucking violin

Blues Traveler.........every song sounded the same and their sound was no better than a band playing at a local bar

you could tell a lot about a band from it's name.

Goo Goo = short for "goo goo gah gah" what a baby says.
Dolls = slang term for girls in the 1950's

thus, the Goo Goo Dolls are baby girls.

    and their music reflects that.

Three Days Grace covered Black by PJ and people were patting me on the back. "there ya go, Steve, some pearl jam!" my buddy said. he couldn't have been farther from the truth.

I only live 15 minutes from the venue and a lot of people I know were going so I went. I can't even describe how bad it was. and the most incredible thing about it was each band progressively got WORSE as they took the stage. Puddle of Mudd played first... and sucked....but they didn't play long so it wasn't that objectionable. Three Days Grace was even worse than them but NOTHING could have prepared me for how bad Breaking Benjamin was.

I hate all those bands with a passion, not to mention every band like them (which there is alot of, all seem to get tons of radio play as well). I cant believe how bad hard rock music is nowadays.

I saw Johnny thunders the last time he was in Sweden long time ago...
I worked at a guitar shop where they wanted to hire an amp for him.
Of course he settled for nothing less than the newest fender twinreverb.

I had to lend it to them on my own responsability (I thought it was cool to help a legend out.....)

So I was invited to see the show, and it was nothing but B A D !!

I was just looking at him swaying about on stage not fit to do anything really but mess up the amp I borrowed them, spilling beer and falling over it....

(And I had to hook him up with some herbs otherwise he wouldn't come on stage at all..... I still regret that).

As we don't get much concerts here at all, I haven't seen anything really bad apart from this one.
    Everyday................is Pearl Jam Day.

    Except Sundays, that's Ed day.

they sound good but are extremely boring. if they didnt have the video screens you could hang a band picture on your wall and listen to one of their albums(they do 'sound' great live). but a concert is more than just audio.

yeah, I agree with this. Tool didn't make my worst concert list cause the music was really good, but it sounds just like the album. Also, I just find it weird that Maynard now stands as a shadow figure behind the band and really all the band members were pretty hidden in the dark stage setting. Only member I had a clear view of was Danny Carey, and he is bad ass now that I have seen him live I see truth to that statement. I just feel like Tool is one of those bands that once you see them live, that's all the shows you need to see. It wasn't bad, just boring. I don't understand how the visuals and lasers serve as a highlight to call them the greatest band live. (as some people do). I enjoyed the show, but they only played like 10 songs and alot of them are extended from the studio versions. I got really bored with the visuals after awhile, and when they came out for encore they had that lightning bolt thing on the screen and "Ions" was playing for what felt like an hour.

Stone Temple Pilots - HORRIBLE.....Weiland is an ass (the Mighty Mighty Bosstones opened - so at least the night wasnt a total write off)

RHCP - the show was free (wouldnt pay a penny to see them) but I wish I could have that 1.5 hours back

Screaming Trees/Soul Asylum/Spin Doctors - Soul Asylum were OK and they were the reason I went......but over all it was a truly painful day

Soundgarden/Nine Inch Nails - Soundgarden were terrible live, Cornells vocals were dreadful

Beck/Flaming Lips - 2 of my favorite bands/artists....the Lips opened and then played as Beck's backing band....but they blew the speakers early in the opening set and their show was cut really short (could have been a great night)

Thankfully on that tour Soul Asylum played the Twin Cities, where they are from, by themselves. SA rocked and I didn't have to sit through the Spin Doctors so I was happy.

i was quite suprised too. the vocals were just not there and the entire show
just seemed very disjointed, unorganized, almost chaotic.

agreed, lindsay buckingham is indeed an amazing guitarist.

though i did get rear ended on the way to the show
so maybe it was just me.
