Bob Dylan at Roskilde in 2006.
RHCP at Roskilde in 2007.
Dylan was probably cool if you really like the guy. I've got two of his records, know the most popular tunes but couldn't figure out what the hell he was doing or what song he was singing. RHCP were just so extraordinary boring.
Tom McRae (I think?) is a good number three. But Tori Amos was playing right after him, so couldn't walk out of that one.
Rest of the concerts I've been to haven't been that bad so they don't deserve being on the "worst" list really.
Collective Soul........headlined and didnt even play for an hour, the singer made a huge fool out of himself dancing
Funny you should mention these guys. I know they get a bad rap (from critics especially) but I've seen then 3X in SMALL venues and I loved every show. The singer IS a bit cheesey but I found it kind of endearing. No, they're not PJ but I find them to be a talented, singalong type band. "Catchy hooks"
They did a concert DVD with the Atlanta Youth Symphony Orchestra and it should be shown to ANYONE who would even consider cutting music programs in our schools. The kids' faces are priceless - it nearly had me bawling

Counting Crows - *snore* one of the reasons I stopped listening to rock music in the late-1990s.
Tool - boring and impersonal, predictable set
Fat Joe - performed his bullshit radio cuts instead of the authentic gangsta shit that niggas wanted to hear
Cheap Trick - waste of time. Those who say that Cheap Trick is "great" in concert need to step out of the late-70s and attend a real show for once.
And finally, some stupid fucking reggaeton concert that an ex-girlfriend dragged me along to. Reggaeton is the lowest form of music. I have no respect for anyone who listens to that shit.

5. DMB- his voice sounded like crap.
4. Black Crowes- The over sold the venue it was too crowded and too hot.
3. Even Flow - HOB in Chicago can kiss my ass.
2. Blink-182 Saw them cause the girl I was seeing liked them.
1. Dylan- I was shocked how bad his voice sounded. 2nd time was better.
25 Ta Life & Not Without Resistance in Kingston, PA last year. 25 Ta Life was filming for their DVD, so I thought they'd play a longer set, but didn't. NWR...it was their CD release show, but they didn't have their CD ready... Still a fun show, though.
Earth Crisis at the Troc 2000. Earth Crisis was filming for their DVD, so I was pumped, but there was a fight and the show ended too soon. Only one song from that show ended up on their DVD.
Strength For a Reason at the Silo in Reading, PA last year. Nobody seemed to know them, only a handful of people sang along. Place was dead. Band didn't seem to care about the show.
Guns 'N Roses in Philly a few years ago. They didn't show up. Chaos ensued.
Britney Spears in Hershey many years ago. My girlfriend at the time took her neice and dragged me along. Yay.
Eric Clapton in Perth last year. His backing band were ordinary, but most of the concert was them doing one directionless, pointless solo after another. Saw him in the 70's and thought he was better then when he was on the drugs (or was that me?)
Now I'm livin' out here on the beach,
but those seagulls are still out of reach.
I saw Guns N Roses play Manchester Maine Road in June 92. Only band ive seen that were booed BEFORE they came on.
Soundgarden opened and they seriously rocked. Cornell asked a small kid if he was old enough to be at a gig. The kid, sat on his fathers shoulders, looked down then back at Cornell and told him to fuck off.
Faith No More were really good too. They came on 20mins or so after SG had finished. Mike Patton was at his best. Bouncing around the stage like a mad man.
nearly 2 hours after FNM, Guns N Roses came on and they were terrible. Arrogant Axl Rose had kept everyone waiting until he felt ready. Everytime a new song came on over the PA everyone booed (although when enter sandman was played everyone cheered) I noticed a lot of people leaving even before GNR had stepped out to play.
ive also seen new kids on the block..HAD to take my kid sister and her friend as a birthday treat. (i dont like to talk about it)
dragged to see Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown by an ex girlfriend too. i weep now thinking about those concerts.
saw Vanilla Ice open for MC Hammer when i was 11 or 12. Vanilla humped every object on stage and "sang" a few terrible songs before closing with ice ice baby. God he sucked.
But MC Hammer put on a great show, i'll give him that. No wonder he went broke. the bass literally rattled my eyeballs.
id say, from this list, RHCP are the worst live band, they are everywhere in this thread....the 4 times ive seen em, theyve been pretty good i thought. two were surprise opening for pj, so i coulda been riding a pearl jam wave....and another time i had floor row 2 center, so that was good.

1. RHCP-you are all correct, awful, just awful (Several times)
2. Dylan-correct again-thing about Dylan songs is that they ALL sound better when someone else is singing.(seen him several times)
3. Phil and Friends- only show I have ever walked out of (2001?)
4. sugar (Bob Mould's band) just a bunch of noise (early 90s)
5. fishbone- I dont know how anyone can listen to that (late eighties)

You can't always help it
Bob Mould's previous band, Husker Du, made my list but I still LOVE his works from the studio. Husker Du live was definitely "a bunch of noise." It was a pretty low-tech show - afterwards, the three of them piled into a Ford Econoline w/Minnesota plates and took off (continuing their "North American Tour ). If he ever came around again, I'd probably take another chance on him.

same with sugar, sonically awesome studio stuff, barely audible live
this surprises me.....I saw Sugar on their Copper Blue tour and I thought they were incredible (and REALLY loud)
this was the file under easy listening tour
could have been the place or the night, but Ive seen other shows in the same spot that sounded great
It was just bad, painful at times
I am just wondering why everyone says RHCP sucks so hard live? I have not seen them, have only watched the Live at Slane Castle dvd incessantly, but I have several friends who have seen them and they really enjoyed it. Judging by that dvd, I would think they would be a good live show.
So, what's the deal?
For my two cents, I would say the Stones were a big letdown for me. I've seen them twice and just wasn't that impressed although the songs were great of course. Perhaps I just expected too much
All I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow
They say every sin is deadly but I believe they may be wrong...I'm guilty of all seven and I don't feel too bad at all
Limp Bizkit Detroit 2001. This show sucked so bad that I left halfway through lb's set. Fred durst's performance was boring he had no energy all he did was walk around stage and bitch at security. Some crappy washed up post-grunge band opened and they gave a much better performance then LB. After that was over i ditched lb and a lot of others soon followed.
Down 2002-As much as I love Down. This show sucked. phil was totally wasted and only sang a few songs then talked through the rest of the show. even people who respected him were telling him to shut the fuck up.
50 cent 2004-50 cent's performance sucked so bad that even his diehard fans were booing him. After that gig i never listened to his shit ever again.
Fucking pathetic
50 Cent? On steroids, along with Mary J. Blige . Gotta have that street cred.
Bob Mould? Unfortunately, I think he likes to stay east of the Mississippi.

Nickleback at same festival, just when they were getting big
Def Leppard 1992 Minnesota State Fair, Went to see Ugly Kid Joe open for em, and left after 3 DL songs
Guns N Roses - 1991 Metallica played for 2 hours, then a 2 hour break, then GNR came on and only played an hour... no encore and from what I remember it was a shitty set
Powerman 5000 - Lit and No Doubt - Warped tour, ticket prices jacked up 30 bucks extra for two bands that are HORRIBLE!!! Only reason I stuck around was for NOFX and Bad Religion later in the day... Anti-Flag was awesome that day, though!
Minneapolis 98, Chicago 00, San Fransisco 00, Fargo 03, Thunder Bay 05, St Paul 06 (night 2), Chicago 08 (EV) both nights
Teenage Fanclub - They opened an hour late because of sound problems, and they definitely didn't fix them. Couldn't hear vocals at all, just guitar... and well TF don't have the most inspirational riffs. Didn't recognise half the songs til I got the setlist at the end of the gig.
Dinosaur Jr. - SO FUCKING LOUD!!!!! To the point where I literally felt like I was going to throw up by the bass hitting my chest. If I didn't have earplugs with me I would have definitely walked out. It was painful and so loud that I couldn't even hear the songs (til I put the plugs in) it was just indistinguishable fuzz.
RHCP - Seen them 4 times now. 3 of them were ace but the 4th at Reading last year SUCKED beyond belief. They obviously hadn't practised in some time since they hadn't toured for a few months before the festival and it REALLY showed. All the songs were so shabby. To fill in the gaps they jammed, jammed and jammed some more, with only Flea seeming to make an effort. In total there was about 40 minutes of aimingless jamming in a less than 2 hour set!!! Chad seemed pissed off at the roadies, Fru seemed pissed off at Anthony, Anthony seemed like he didn't know what was going on and Flea was in his own little world. It probably would have been fine if they just PRACTISED before the dates. There's really no excuse when given the chance (and the money) to headline such a legendary festival and not to put any effort in.
...those are the only 3 I remember for being absolutely hideous gigs. Been a few mergh ones, but no other outright bad ones.
As for everyone seeming to hate Mould live, I saw him in... 2005 I think (or maybe 06) and I thought he was great. *shrug*

I actually thoroughly enjoyed RHCP when I saw them last year, if anything sucked that show, it was the opening act Gnarls Barkley. Horrible translation in a live show. All we got was feed back like for 4 of the songs and the rumbling of the instruments drowned out the vocals. RHCP is great though, I may be the only one here who thinks that.
RHCP are great when they put the effort in, but there are times when they obviously think they're too great to put any effort in and that's when they suck. They're too full of themselves, and sometimes it translates into a bad live show.
