WORST concerts (top five) you've seen

I saw OLP in 1994 in a bar in Calgary called the Republik. About 200 people there and they rocked the place. Their first album Naveed has never been matched. Naveed, Starseed, Birdman, and Hope are classics. They had five singles off that album. Naveed is particularly anthemic. Saw them in Lethbridge when they got s little bigger and we're playing arenas. Wasn't into much after Clumsy and Superman's Dead, but in Canada they get such heavy rotation, those songs grow on you.
Just sticking up for Raine Maida and the boys. They put out some solid shit in the early years.Post edited by 1ThoughtKnown on0 -
I saw Our Lady Peace in 98 at a festival. They played right before Foo Fighters (They were the headliner). I thought OLP was really good. I agree on Naveed. Solid album. I liked some songs off clumsy, but really enjoyed Happiness is not a fish you can catch.PJ: 10/14/00 06/09/03 10/4/09 11/15/13 11/16/13 10/08/14

Naveed was an awesome album. I don't ever put it on anymore, but there were the days when that album was a blue chip album that ranked with any in my circle of friends.1ThoughtKnown said:I saw OLP in 1994 in a bar in Calgary called the Republik. Add the Imagine Dragons to that list. Not that they are awful musicians or sounded bad, just that I hate their music, and the lead singers lame dancing.
You do what can to make the wife and kids happy lol0 -
Yeah I've read that about Counting Crows, that it's like rolling dice seeing them. In August they are playing 3 times less than an hour and a half away and I still can't convince the wife to go lol. It's a shame too because we both love Underwater Sunshine and Somewhere Under Wonderland.imalive said:
I can see why it was a down mood at soundgarden.pledgeagrievance said:- '97 Rocket from the Crypt opened for Soundgarden at the Roseland (NYC). Man they were painful. And then Soundgarden came out and Chris, as always back then, sounded like shit. Not only did Chris sound terrible, but Ben Shepard was cursing and spitting at the front of the crowd. He looked generally sour and pissed off. Then Chris cursed out Rolling Stone and the media. Generally a down mood and down vibe given off by the band. They broke up soon after
- went to see Phish once in Philly around '00 when I was in college. They were boring as hell. Still never got what all the fuss was about. I can see why people get fucked up for their shows. You have to b fucked up to sit through it (old man rant over)
- My ex wanted to see Creed. I don't think I need to explain further
- Our Lady Peace was painful. I went through a faze in college where I really connected to Happiness is not a fish. Saw them at Irving Plaza and it was underwhelming. I bought Spiritual Machines, which was ok, but they really put out crap after that. I'm embarrassed that I was that into them for about 2-3 years lol.
- Counting Crows. I came to them later in life. Saw them for Hard Candy tour for the first (and only) time. They played for about an hour, zero songs off Hard Candy (how do u tour behind an album and not play 1 song off it?). They played 10 songs total. Of the 10 songs they heavily re-arranged about 8 of them. I mean I thought it was ok to re-arrange but I don't think most of the crowd appreciates it and I know my wife didn't. She wont go see them again and it's been about 8 years. Still talks about how boring it was and how they "messed around with every song". Oh yeah, it didn't help that Maroon 5 opened. Ugh.
yeah, phish is for people who like the dead (not me)
creed - yeah.
I just know like one hit from OLP
you got a bad crows show....Adam has a social disorder.....they are a great live band on some nights....but sometimes not.0 -

3. Banana melt or Melt banana???. It was SOOO bad. Opened for tool years ago. I was wanting to keep small bands out of this, but consider this your warning if they play in your area.
The 2nd time I saw Tool on that tour I made sure to get inside when they were finishing up. It was truly awful. A Perfect Circle had a really terrible opener in 2011 when I saw them but no clue what the bands name was.

Pretty sure there could be a whole thread devoted to bad opening acts."The stars are all connected to the brain."0

Absolutely! My first two nominees would be Mudhoney and Tegan and Sarah or whatever they're called. Awful.Who Princess said:Pretty sure there could be a whole thread devoted to bad opening acts.

Scott weiland last year in Houston was the worst show I've ever been to. It was a sad train wreck. This review was actually kind. http://www.houstonpress.com/music/last-night-scott-weiland-at-house-of-blues-6762467
Smashing pumpkins have sucked the two times I've seen them. Also, a date made me go to Bon jovi and that was torture.
I saw MGMt and Cold War kids and thought both were terrible as well (though I'm not a fan)0 -
That weiland show was very disappointing, glad it was free.PJ: 10/14/00 06/09/03 10/4/09 11/15/13 11/16/13 10/08/14

Matt Nathanson. I saw him because a girl dragged me to the concert. His in between song banter was annoying as hell and just immature (Who wants to twist my nipple? I'll give you the choice of right or left!). All the college age women ate it up and I hated it--HATED IT.I've got a fever, and the only prescription is more cowbell.

Wow the comments on RHCP are just totally.....,.hilarious!
Consensus seems to be avoid:
RHCP
Samashin Pumpkins
Gyns and roses
Bin jovi
Goo goo dolls
Bob Dylan
Amazing how you can sell.do many records but suck live0 -
RHCP are great live. I've only seen them on the last two tours, but they were great each time. They don't seem to play much before blood sugar sex magic these days though. Would have loved to have seen them in the early days. I think the earliest they went back on the stadium Arcadium tour was "Me and my friends"PJ: 10/14/00 06/09/03 10/4/09 11/15/13 11/16/13 10/08/14
