i started a floyd thread just on this. i really think they are the only ones.

id like to see dead kennedys with jello, but i think thats more of during that time thing. it just wouldnt be the same now. like most punk the music is kinda dated. plus i really wouldnt pay too much.

    floyd is timeless.

About the only band I can think of is McLusky. Not sure if I'd pay 100s to see them, but if they did a reunion show I'd be more than happy to travel the country to see them (I would say world, but being realistic they're probably not known very well outside of the UK).

Pink Floyd - Post Syd Floyd (Meddle, Dark Side Of The Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals, The Wall)
    Soundgarden
    Talking Heads
Genesis - As long as Peter Gabriel pushes Phil Collins back to the drums and no Su-sudio is sung.
Roxy Music - With Brian Eno
    ...
Bands that wouldn't charge a lot of money:
Black Flag - The Rollins Black Flag
Dead Kennedys - It isn't Dead Kennedys if Jello isn't there... the 'Courtship of Eddie's Father' guy does NOT count.
    ...
The only band I'd pay over 100 bucks to see... Pink Floyd or the Talking Heads

There aren't many things I wouldn't do to see that band live.

I'd fellate a smurf for example.

    Husker Du
    Kyuss
    Pink Floyd
    Screaming Trees
    The Smiths
    Rainbow (great call btw)
    The Kinks
    Talking Heads
    Temple Of The Dog

I saw Soundgarden and Faith No More twice apiece (once on the same bill in 1990) and would see them again if they reunited.
I saw Uncle Tupelo when they were touring for No Depression & would love to see them again. I doubt it will happen though.
I would say The Replacements but Bob Stinson is deceased.

Good call on both. Bobby is dead but he left the band a few years before they broke up anyway so I think they could still conceivably reunite and be called The Replacements, even if he was an important part of their sound.

Husker Du never would in a million years though :(

  • Soundgarden (if this were 1998 - 2005 somewhere before Chris lost his voice), Screaming Trees, Steppenwolf (long as they stuck with their '60s and '70s material, anyway), R.E.M. with Bill Berry, Pink Floyd, and if Ben McMillan wasn't dead, Gruntruck. That considered, Zeppelin and The Doors wouldn't be bad, either.

I got to see Bob Mould and Grant Hart reunite a few years back at a benefit for Karl Meuller of Soul Asylum. I think thats as close as they ever will be to reuniting.
