Oh man, one of my prized possessions is a fully signed CD from one of their shows in Sheffield, England back in 1990 or something. Absolutely hilarious show, brilliant musicianship. Didn't realise they were still going!

    Almost forgot...

    Joe Cocker
    ABC
    Human League
    Pulp
    Arctic Monkeys (etc.)
    Def Leppard
    Richard Hawley
    Babybird
    Tony Christie
    Heaven 17

...probably a load more that I can't think of right now.

Um, none that I know of from my hometown. Tyler is like 30 mins away, which is where Eisley is from. Not a big fan of their music (mostly unfamiliar), but I got a lot of respect for that family and what those girls can do vocally and musically. They're like the sirens in the odyssey or something.

True, I did leave them out, but I was going for bands that are currently still in the game. Besides, Days of the New is almost a dirty word/joke around here anymore...

A few more for good measure

I guess the next closest bands to me are the fantastic Bristol bands like Portishead and Massive Attack.

    NERDS!
  • actually yeah, they are... well, when they actually started off they released their first album off of some indy-label that only released albums for "christian" bands. they even recorded a song for a tribute album for a christian band named "The Prayer Chain" which i recommend you get into. trust me. you won't be disappointed. and the song "Manta Ray" that Viva Voce recorded for the tribute album is just as good as the original song.
